About 1.5 years ago I woke up after drinking a fair amount (xmas party) with the worst hangover I've ever had. I told my wife this feels like a migraine. Since then, I've noticed even small amounts of alcohol always lead to migraine type pains the next day. For sure, the less the alcohol, the smaller the migraine. For example, in Italy, my wife and I shared a bottle of wine - 2 glasses a piece or so. By 6am the next morning I was vomiting, sweating, pounding head. Since then I've noticed that ANY amount of alcohol and within hours I am suffering. Kind of takes the fun out of happy hour, vacations, nice restaurants, etc.
The pre-cocktail ibuprofen does nothing. Wondering if anyone else out there experienced this and knows a cure or a recommendation.View Thread
My girlfriend has been suffering from her migraines and I was hoping to post this to help her out. Here are her symptoms in her own words:
"uring the early afternoon, I get headaches based in my sinuses, eyes, and right in between the eyes, which makes me sensitive to light, sounds, and touch. The only way I've been able to get any relief is if I go to sleep in a dark room with a heating pad on my face until I wake up naturally. If someone wakes me, it gets worse. I have intense nightmares almost every night and wake up fatigued. Throughout the day it feels like my body temperature changes rapidly, between extremely cold and sweating.[br>I think that all of these are related somehow with my nervous system, brain, and glandular systems, but am not sure"
Thanks guys,

I began having hemiplegic migraines when I was around 7 or 8 right in the middle of shopping with my mom in walmart. I am now 25 years old so I have suffered from these strange migraines for more than half my life. I am sure as many of you can also attest to my symptoms have evolved over time where it may have started with the numbness and headache alone in earlier years to now they are full blown with auras, speech difficulty (not just speaking but I know what I want to say but the words don't leave the tip of tongue), I lose depth perception, and many many other things including complete exhaustion for a few days after.
Now that I am married and thinking of starting a family in the future and that adds to the anxiety over these. I worry about my children having these because me and 4 of 5 siblings all suffer from these. I don't want them to suffer like I have. Not to mention searching for work it almost makes me wonder if I can hold a medical assistant position if these are not trackable honestly can I even drive a car safely?
These might seem irrational but this is what I have had to deal with since I was a child.View Thread
I am a 38 year-old male, athletic-frame, 6'1, 185lbs, considered by most standards to be in excellent physical condition. People often guess me 10+ years younger than I am. I surf, skateboard, ride bikes and motorcycles on a near-daily basis.
I've had a headache since 2005. Some days it's almost nonexistent, others very severe. Always on my left side, always just over the eye. It responds moderately to xanax and valium, very little to tramadol and opiates, and very well to ambien. Indocine has no effect, high-dose steroids seem to help for a couple of days. Tylenol is my go-to medication, but it is by no means reliable. Adderall makes it easier to cope.
I've had 7 years of negative MRI's, blood tests, CT's, EEG's, EMG's and neuro exams. I've seen neurologists, neuro opthamologists, Physical therapy, acupuncture, radio frequency, steroid injections, chiropractic adjustments and dietary changes have had no effects at all.
Other findings that might be significant - stiffness and soreness in left side of jaw and neck. Pain and tenderness when touching left eye - I'm now nearly certain this is the origin of the headache, however, I have seen 2 reputable neuro opthamologists who have found nothing. At times, however, in the past, I have been convinced the cause was neck or jaw related. Another possible noteworthy fact is that if I take ambien the night before, I am much less likely to have a bad headache the following day.
At this point, I'm at my end. I don't know what to do and I am afraid the medications I take (most of which don't work anyway) are going to shorten my life. I do my best to be optimistic, but as it stands, right now, my basic purpose is to witness a bad headache. I don't remember what life was like without the headache, but it sure sounds amazing. I don't know where else to turn, but I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions. I live in NYC, but can travel. I am happy to be a published case, I hate the fact that other people are probably suffering from this as well.
Thank you, I hope you aren't in pain,

I currently live in Europe and don't really want to see a doctor here (language issues). I'll be returning home to the USA in about month. Is it okay to wait until then to see a doctor?
Thanks so much!View Thread
I've had people tell me this sounds like cluster headaches - my doctor calls them acute chronic migraines.
So - are cluster headaches just migraines that go on for days? Or are they something entirely different? What is the treatment for cluster headaches?
Just curious. ShirleyView Thread

Lets move forward a two years...my son has experienced off and on headaches over this period that last up to half a day but get better with drugs and do go away. These occurrences have become more frequent over the last little while. The pain is in the same area it has always been and is the same type of pain, but is stronger then it has ever been (thankfully it will go away). He seems to wake up either vomiting or with a sever headache or both. He has seen 4 different doctor's over the last month, and some believe that his neck has been effected by the stroke (he does have hyper flexibility)and is causing the headaches or vomiting or the odd time neck pain after he sleeps. He has now almost missed a month of school because of these constant health problems and has even had to be rushed to emergency for morphine when he had a headache that was at 4.5 out of 5 for over 6 hours until the morphine kicked in. He cried in pain the whole 6 hours!!!!
I need help on what I can do for him!!! Each doctor he has seen says something different and NO ONE seems to be able to help him and acupuncture has yet to be effective.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate ... I am desperate once again!!!!

Petadolex has been around for a very long time, but it appears they are the only ones that have a patented process that remove the toxins that are normally in Butterbur. So I am confident trying this product. (I use supplements for other ailments and I know them to work. Besides, I love the fact there are no side-effects. The natural toxins, if not removed properly, can cause stomach-cramping.) There are other supplements out there, but I felt most comfortable trying this one.
I'll keep you posted. ShirleyView Thread
