I hope this can help someone. Just a little background so you can maybe compare yours to mine. I am a 49 year old woman who has suffered migraines all my life. They were worse when I was working a stressful but enjoyable job-up to 10 a month. My pregnancies were a nightmare. I know what my triggers are and can easily avoid them. I have worked at home for 17 years but still had at least 2 a month and one on every single vacation we ever went on. So last year I totalled my car (nothing to do with migraines) and when they took my blood pressure in the ambulance they wanted to transport me RIGHT NOW. I hate the local hospital and refused, but agreed to go see a doctor, so I did go straight to a friend who is a nurse practioner. She prescribed 2 blood pressure medicines which worked and as an amazing miraculous side effect, I have not had a migraine since. I have been on 2 vacations without them. Holidays without a migraine. I wish I had been taking them all my life. I take 100 mg of metoprolol and 20 mg of lisinopril daily. I have always taken both so I don't know if it is one or both of them. They are $4 a month drugs at most pharmacies. I know you can't make your drs give you a medicine, but you can ask.View Thread
