So the riboflavin and magnesium work for you - that's great! In pill form I didn't get any relief but with foods, I have seen a lessening of the number of migraines I have. (I eat Quinoa, greek yogurt, and Chia seeds every morning). I prefer to change my diet over taking more pills (including supplements).
Butterbur by Petadolex has been around for a long, long time (made in Germany) but the company has recently improved it. I take 3 pills per day - this last week I had 5 days of no-migraine days. This is big as I normally only get 1-2 days between migraine episodes - having 15-25 migraines in a given month.
I have been on the Petadolex for over a month now - it doesn't cause any stomach distress. But it is working at reducing the number of migraines for me - it does nothing for the intensity of the migraines (I still take Zomig, Alleve, and strong coffee for that).
I think it is great that we on this board have found so many different things. I think it encourages us to keep trying things as we seek relief. I'm lucky to have a doctor (md) who approves of combining herbals/supplements along with prescribed medicines.View Thread
