I have a question about my Mom's condition. She is 52 years old and has been experiencing a squeezing sensation in only one half of her brain for the past couple of years. She tells me that the sensation is akin to a sugarcane being crushed, or a rubber band being twisted. We had done CT Scan and MRI an year ago but the doctor couldn't find any abnormality. She does have a history of anxiety and psychological stress, from events that occurred ~5-10 years ago and was on sleeping meds for a couple of years some time back.
The squeezing sensation has gotten worse over the past 2-3 months (after a meditation workshop she attended) and I was worried that it would aggravate to cause stroke or some other brain-related physical debilitation.
Also, she doesnt have any diabetes or hypertension, is not overweight, doesn't smoke or drink and is physically fit in all other ways.
We are going to see a doctor again next month. I was wondering if the symptoms above mean anything to anyone here? Can a name be put on the symptoms? What are the options you would recommend we try out? How can we prevent stroke, if at all thats going to be the endpoint?
I would like to arm myself with questions and possibilities before meeting the doctor. I'd appreciate any suggestions/thoughts/information here.
