Hi,
Ive just been diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines after years of MRI scans and stroke consultations. Im 33.
My symptoms are tingling, numbness in left side (just arms and face), slurred speech (2mins) and numb throat. Last episode I felt like I was choking as I could swallow.
For years we thought it was a TIA but everytime I came back fit and healthy, which was a relief.
My ultimate worry is that I will be driving and will crash as its so unpredictable.
I dont know about triggers but I sware diet coke is a demon. I used to drink gallons of it and it would always trigger an aura migraine - sometimes 2 in a day but on average one a week. I cut it out for a while but then went back to drinking it. Each time I linked it back to migraines.
I am not drinking it anymore. I still get migraines around the time of my cycle (way less though) and I suspect there will be a hemi around the corner one day but Im def better off without diet coke.
