My husband, who is now 57, has been suffering from severe headaches for the past three years that started out of nowhere. He came home from work with a swollen, irritated watery right eye and draining right sinus with excruciating pain behind the eye and at the top of his head. Any cough or sneeze causes this severe pain. The headaches have not ever stopped. They only recede with meds for a short period of time. CT of his sinuses and MRI did not show anything that would indicate these symptoms. The MRI did show bulging discs at c3/4 and c5/6. In October of 2012 he has laser surgery at 3/4 removing bone spur, arthritis and thickened ligament with no noticable result. He has tried close to a dozen different nerve injections, blood pressure medicines, topomax, endomethicin, accupuncture, imitrex, large amounts of ibprophen and finally heavier pain meds to no avail. All have not helped alleviate the pain which is now debilitating. I am watching him suffer daily as the pain gains strength. He has a badly deviated septum and a plastic surgeon wants to operate to see if this can alleviate his pain. Any opinion or help would be most appreciated. We are at a place where we are totally out of our league as are the doctors/neurologists that we have been seeing. This man had just lost approx. 40 lbs. over a year and a half and was riding his bike 60-80 miles a week, watching what he was eating when these headaches struck. We are truly desperate.View Thread
