The pinched nerve runs up my left side, thus explaining the pain in the left temple. With adjustments and various manipulations Dr. Picone has severely lessened the pain and episodes. While it isn't totally gone, I have returned to a good quality of life, and certainly hope you will as well. I will continue this treatment for as long as necessary - I wonder if you had any form of trauma - car wreck, bad fall? Dr. Picone thinks my issue could have been whiplash but I had no such trauma that i can remember, though i may have fallen at my barn and thought nothing of it. One day the pain was just there.
Additionally, I have learned the triggers, as I'm sure you have. I have found my own sneezing method, for instance. I obviously can't stop a sneeze but I can control how hard I sneeze and my
Osture when I do - the same with coughing. The other thing I have found is working on good posture, shoulders back, straight back. I experienced a lot of pain driving and realized my posture was all wrong. When reading, don't bend from the neck...hold the book, IPad, etc. up high.
Hope any of this helps you - and others - best to you!View Thread
I have suffered with excruciating head pain for 3-1/2 YEARS, and have had all the testing expected, from MRI of the head, neck and brain, CT scans, ultrasounds, have consulted a DDS specializing in TMJ. Two neurologists came to the same conclusion: they have no idea, but were happy to prescribe medication. The pain is horrific and is triggered by sneezing, coughing, laughing and/or bending over. Mine has been mostly focused in the left temple and feels as though someone is stabbing me with a knife, which would often radiate through to the other side and often include the neck. I finally consulted an alternative medicine/chiropractor, Dr. Joseph Picone in Tryon, NC who determined I have a pinched nerve. After one month, Dr. Picone has lessened the episodes by 75% (guessing) and the severity has been dramatically reduced. I must add that I initially consulted with him at the recommendation of a friend that was seeing him for enzyme therapy and he helped her enormously. His chiropractic efforts and the enzyme therapy have given me my life back. I do not suffer from the toxins that filled my body and caused so many issues. Also, I have reduced the prescribed Lyrica from 150 mg 2X/day to once a day, have eliminated the Orphenadrine completely and rarely take a pain reliever. When the pain was severe the only real relief I got was from Hydrocodone which I do not like to take for the obvious reasons. I have returned to gardening, am able to bend over and put dirty clothes in the washer and clean the litter box! (Note: Dr. Picone was a practitioner for the Miami Heat and was highly regarded by the team, as well as numerous golf pros, as attested by the autographed pictures on his office walls.) I hope the information I have provided can help someone out there - I was so terribly despondent and I know there are others hoping for a cure, or at least a break from the head pain. Good luck to you!View Thread
