Back pain, neck pain, and headaches. These three common pain conditions affect millions of Americans every day. About 116 million people suffer from chronic pain, with 27% of pain sufferers complaining of low back pain, 15% headache or migraine, and another 15% neck pain.
Some of this pain is the result of chronic underlying medical conditions, and requires a doctor's care. But in some cases, you can manage pain by taking a few simple steps in your daily life.

Mine knows exactly what to do, and that usually consists of them doing nothing. I need to be quiet and laying down in a dark, quiet room.
Does your family understand what to do or better yet, what not to do....?View Thread

Got me thinking about my Mom and how she suffered through migraines for many years, and then I did and still do on occasion, and how my daughter, does now as well.

I wanted to share this with you again, it's a good article filled with good information.

Do you know someone in your family that has migraines as well as you?
Can you see a link to your own migraines?View Thread

The best way to manage migraine headaches is to avoid them. And to avoid them, you need to know what things (or triggers) bring them on. By finding and avoiding your triggers, you can limit how often you get migraines and how bad they are.
Try to avoid as many triggers as you can. Triggers add up, so the fewer you have at one time, the better your chance of preventing a migraine.
To manage your migraines:
- Use a headache diary to find your migraine triggers.
- Make sure you sleep, exercise, and eat on a regular schedule.
- Don't eat foods that are likely to trigger a migraine.
- Manage stress .
- Avoid smoking and secondhand smoke .

I put a cold rag on my head and lay quietly in a dark room. I get waves in my eyes, ocular migraines, and closing my eyes tends to help the best with some meds.
What do you do that works for you?View Thread
