In the meantime he bleeds a lot and my DD is concerned about blood loss. She's noticed that he's drinking a lot more, but his naps have also doubled! She thinks he's having trouble with balance and is concerned the blood loss has weakened him.
After 3 doctors, they've been told "Yep, it's an angioma all right! Leave it alone and it'll heal by itself." (Tell a 15 month old that!) They've also been told there's a powder that will stop bleeding and is safe to use so near his eye, but it's not available locally. The Ped's nurse told them to order some, but in the meantime, take a calcium tablet and scrape it to make a powder. (It helps but it still takes time.)
Apparently, angiomas can be cauterized with a lazer, but because of his age he'd need a general anestetic and no one wants to deal with that.
What do you do when doctors don't want to help? My DD was in tears last night and was talking about canceling their trip here for Christmas because travelling is stressful enough, but with a bleeding baby...!View Thread
Is potty training at 1 a waste of time??
My daughter just turned 1 last week and she hates her diapers. She fusses when it's dirty and she recently jumped up, tore it off, and peed on the floor. I got a potty for her not thinking she'd really use it but she did, the very first time!! in the past day she's gone on her potty 4 or 5 times but also had 2 or 3 accidents....
Is she getting the whole "potty idea"or am I just putting myself through extra work and cleaning time?View Thread
Can you give examples of some of the things you or other mothers you know have worried about excessively? Feel free to attribute all of these exaggerated concerns to other mothers, not you!!! The sillier or more irrational the past concern the better -- though these should be true, not fabrications!View Thread
The other thing I wonder is a lot of times in the morning I have to take her in the bathroom with me while I get ready for work since DH is already gone and she likes to stand by the tub and pull on the shower curtain while I"m in the shower. I'm wondering if since she sees me standing up she might want to. She's a goofball. Any thoughts?View Thread
I have not been able to find the right board with the right aged kids since they switched everything around. My goodness that is horrible!!!
I've missed reading everyones posts the past couple of weeks. Hope everyone is doing good and all babies are nice and bouncy!!
Lilly is trying to walk, she will walk between me and dh up to like 6 feet but she's just now letting go of the couch and walk a short distance to something else. She could do it, she just needs confindence in herself!View Thread

It's been awhile. Tomorrow is Stella's 1st birthday. I can't believe my baby is a toddler now. Her party was on Saturday and went awesome! She got so many gifts I'm going to need a bigger toy box.View Thread
