Hello!!! So, I asked my neuro about this and she said she's never heard anyone report what I had said... I feel as if a week before my period, my MS symptoms get a lot worse (weakness, fatigue, brain fog, some minor numbness, depression). I've spoken to my neuro and psychiatrist about having possible PMDD (which is like PMS x10). They wanted to prescribe me prozac for this but I decided not to since I'm already on Copaxone and trying vitamins and homeopathic stuff first. I've noticed some months are a lot worse than others, and I also noticed that when I drink alcohol around this time, it makes my PMS a lot worse... Is this weird?
Has anyone else experienced this? Or noticed their symptoms get worse around their period?View Thread
Hi Holly! I have exactly what you have (stiffness, memory, trouble finding words) and EXTREME fatigue where after I wake up, a few hours later I am so tired I feel like I just ran a marathon. I notice a few things happen when I get tired, my right eye starts twitching, I get brain fog, it's hard for me to concentrate and all I want to do is hop in bed and sleep.
My new neuro prescribed me Modafinil(Provigil) for the fatigue and sleepiness. She said to take it when I feel I need it. Today is the second day I've taken it because it's midday and I want to sleep forever. The first time I took it, I had two cups of coffee that day and was still tired so I decided to take it. It definitely gave me anxiety so I was afraid to take it again. I took it today, but I only took 1/4 of a pill instead of 1/2 and I don't really feel a difference, so I think I will go take the other 1/4.
The whole memory problem-- trust me, I go through that all the time, it's more long term memory than short term. I couldn't even remember that my sister was engaged 6 years ago when she brought it up.
I notice when I do yoga and exercise daily for at least 20-30 min, I don't have as bad fatigue... But as you know, MS is like a rollercoaster, with a lot of unexpected turns. One day can be good, and the next can be hard to deal with. I also juice fresh vegetables and fruit which I feel has helped. I also take b-12 and vitamin d spray from mercola.com that I absolutely love and can tell a difference when I don't take it.View Thread
