Thank you for replying.. please forgive my lack of not responding quick enough... I've had a pretty rough three weeks but getting better....the study has been for awhile now but out of the blue the doctor took me off it due to reactions. Now we're talking about Ampyra , which I understand is used for walking?View Thread
My Neuro Doc has be on Dimethyl Furomate to slow the symptoms down and on Ampyra for my balance and walking. I am more fatigued than ever, my eyes are bugging to the light , and most of the day I was laying down...Some days I can't get up due to numbness, achiness, and my memory loss is bad!!! MS SUCKS! Who's with me!??? I'm hanging in there tho....I have Primary Progressive MS..diagnosed in 1992.View Thread
Thank you Kim,,,,, We did change his therapy from Avonex to an oral medication and the Ampyra seems to be working well. The neurologist said that Ampyra is not successful with some people but that my partner is one of the lucky ones to have good results. Rob has his good days and bad days. Says he sounds like Kathryn Hepburn!! He has a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you for the info...I copied it and I'm learning a lot about MS. It's very rare for a man to have MS but the neuro told us it was probably from genetics in his family from his Mother's side. We'll keep you posted.
We went to the neurologist and he said basically just rest and that there was no medication for the fatigue. The good news is, the AMPYRA seems to be working and he's walking better. Not out of the woods yet but we shall see. Thanks so much. We'll keep you up dated.View Thread
My name is Rick and my partner has had MS since 1988. He is now slowing down and his speech is slurred, walking has almost become impossible for him until we put him on AMPYRA. He still has ringing in his ear, his vision is blurry and his balance is off right now. I have to help him dress and shower, and put him to bed. Is it normal for him to have fatigue and migraines? Yet through all this that has gone on, he has been very upbeat w/ a sense of humor....He lives each day to the fullest and his attitude is awesome...I also learned that it's rare for men to have MS but MS does run in his family..that ms is more common in women. We had him tested twice and no matter how we sliced it, IT was MS....he's also on Avonex. Thanks in Advance...I'm very worried about him.View Thread
