I get where a vaccine such as polio is necessary and I would have elected to get that one anyway, but I feel common sense with regard to some of these vaccines has gone completely out the window.
And I understand your reluctance to share this info and who you are! I often wonder if we chose not to get the vaccines, would our pedes office report us for child endangerment or neglect? It seems CPS is out to take your children from you at the drop of a hat.View Thread

We are saying ok to the mandatory vaccines and not getting ANY optional ones (such as rotavirus for example).
May I just say too that the fact that the chicken pox vaccine is mandatory is completely ridiculous to us!! Even our pediatrician had to give us the "well it can be fatal" response, but once I said "well so can strep throat or the flu, or any disease if not taken care of or if a person has a bad enough reaction..... plus putting them in the CAR can be fatal. How far do we have to take it???", he nodded an agreement and admitted that if there were any vaccine he could do without it would be that one.View Thread

We had the bilirubin issues as well (breast milk jaundice). We got our baby girl home only to have to go back to the hospital the following day to spend two more nights there. I was breastfeeding so we got to stay with her and they let me take her to out to feed her, but that was about it - back into the box she went when not being fed. It broke my heart! It's so common but when it's your baby (esp your first), just SO difficult when you just want to cuddle them. The hardest part for me was her having to have her eyes covered all the time. I had to remind myself that she was used to being in a dark place.View Thread

Oh well. Congrats on your delivery!
I just began daycare last week (2 days with MIL and 3 days at daycare) so that has been rough. The baby is doing great but mom and dad not so much - I'm still crying each day when she leaves!View Thread
