Hey! I have two tips for women who are pumping and bottle-feeding breast milk. My son is almost 3 mo and I've basically been doing this since he was a couple weeks old. My breasts got engorged and he couldn't latch on and it was just easier for me to pump. I was producing pretty well and then came to a screeching halt. I started taking alfalfa and it works wonders. I can now pump on average 10 ounces at a sitting. When I get up in the morning I've been known to pump 18 ounces.
Another tip, about three days ago I noticed my milk wasn't coming out when I'd pump. I'd have to sit there and kneed my breasts with my hands to make the milk come out and what I could get from 20 minutes took 40. Not fun. So this morning I was getting everything together and I noticed one of the membranes was torn (Medela Pump N Style). Once I replaced it the milk came out as quickly and easily as it had before.View Thread
