The American Academy of Pediatrics released new guidelines today regarding the use of child safety seats. The old recommendation was to keep your infant in a rear-facing 5-point harness carseat until 12 months of age and 20 lbs. The new recommendation is to keep your child in the rear-facing position (in a 5-point harness) until age 2 or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat (specified on the seat's manufacturing guidelines). Please pass this important information along to all of your friends and families with small children.View Thread
