Congratulations on the birth of your son and welcome to the Baby's First Year Community. Sleep has always been a new mothers biggest complaint. I think as early as a few weeks, while you want to still feed baby on demand, it's ok to try to start getting a routine. When your little one wakes up at night, I would strongly encourage you to get up and feed your little one. Try to keep the lights down low and and make it as quiet as possible. Try keeping him up more during the day and play with me.
Dr. DuMond wrote a good article on how to get your little one to sleep through the night and when you should expect them to. Check it out here .
Good luck and let us know how things go! EmmaView Thread
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
We all have some adjustments to make after having a baby, but how much of an adjustment did your marriage make? Spontaneous sex is out, sleeping in only if the other parent gets up. Certainly finances have been affected.
Summer time brings all sorts of problems for newborns. From dehydration, over heating, sun burns, and bug bites, you name it. They affect your little one even more than they do adults. How do you plan to keep your little one safe this summer?

Please remember while we love having you on our Baby's First Year Community. We do have a great 1 year old Parenting community (http://exchanges.webmd.com/parenting-1-year-olds-exchange), if your little one is turning 1 soon. I'd love to see you over there too!View Thread
