We had our third son on September 13th. He was not suppose to arrive until Oct 23rd!
My previous sons had minimal complications (gestatinal diabetes/kidney stones/utis) and both were born at 39 and 40 weeks. Both very HEALTHY boys 9lbs 15 oz and 10 lbs 12 oz.
So when my water broke at 34 weeks and 2 days I was totally shocked because my pregnancy has been great! Our third son was born weighing 5 lbs 12oz and he is now doing wonderful at 5 weeks old.
My question is for any moms out there that had a preemie did your next pregnancy also end prematurely? We definitely want more kiddos but do not want to chance having a baby early. Its ok when they make it but luckily he didn't come out any earlier! Its just my doctor said this was a fluke but I have now a higher risk of another premature baby. But if it was a fluke why would it happen again?View Thread
My first son's name is Enoch Matthew...Enoch is biblical meaning trained/dedicated and Matthew is after his dads middle name. I don't think my son Enoch will meet another Enoch at thats ok---its unique...its not like we made up the name or spelled it different...its just like in the bible
My second son's name is Edison Michael.. Edison is after his late grandpa "Ed" and Michael after my dads middle name...View Thread
I would definately have your water checked out by sending a sample to Public Health in your state. We were shocked when we did...I was pregnant with our first child and the nitrates were so high it said babies should definately not drink the water, so neither did I. Our water was so bad we have the best water softner we could buy for the hardness and then our water goes through a reverse osmosis filtering system. With these our water is perfectly healthy and great tasting. But I'd definately just get it checked out to be sure.View Thread
We had the same thing happen with our first son. We had to take him in for something else and I just mentioned how his cord smelled so bad! All it was that we weren't cleaning it well enough...we were first time parents trying to be sooo gentle while cleaning...well that meant not cleaning it well enough...after that we had no more problems then it fell off...View Thread
I swaddled my first DS until 7 months but with my second DS its a different story. No matter how tight I got the swaddle he'd be out within a couple of minutes and that started to happen at around 5 months. When I want to stop the swaddling i leave 1 arm out for about a week and when he's used to that i will have both arms out but still wrap the blanket around his body. We had a couple of bad nights here b/c he'd wake up every 2 hours b/c of his darn hands....but i think him and us were eventually pooped and he has slept from 8 pm-6am without waking!!!! I don't feel swaddling holds them back at all...it does its purpose for the time being and then you move on to the next thing HTHView Thread
I work 2-3 days a week as a medical technologist in a hospital laboratory. I worked very hard for my degree and absolutely LOVE my job. But obviously I LOVE my kiddos too so working 2-3 days a week is perfect!!! They get to be around different kids and environment which I think is a good thing while I get to enjoy a couple of hours at work.View Thread
I have a 3 month old that almost every time i try to burp him he'll start crying like he's TOTALLY pissed i stopped giving him milk...lol...and he knows when i start to put him back on the pillow that he knows the formula will start coming. Does anyone's LO do this? I mean it doesn't worry me because i know he just wants the milk but he sounds like he's in pain! He burps quite well and i only burp him 2-3 times for a 5oz bottle. And he's so strong and pissed during burping that he almost stands up and i hardly have time to pat his back and he just ends up burping on his own...lol I know every baby is different but how often do you burp your baby?View Thread
