I have to say that I had the same thought when I read your daughters were sharing their books with their friends when they were at your house. I also see it as the same as the school doing it...actually I think it's kind of worse because they would expect the school to teach their kids things but not coming from a friends house.
I'm not 100% sure how I feel about all this. I like that the school is sharing the curriculum with you so that you are aware. I remember in 4th or 5th grade being separated boys/girls and learning about menstration, etc. Then in 5th grade we learned about sex and sex organs. My mom was not open me about sex, menstration, etc. She waited for me to come to her (which never happened). That is one thing I will change with my girls. I will initiate the conversations and not wait for them to come to me.
I will say that ODD is 5 and we don't use "appropriate" names for body parts. Her girl parts we just refer to as privates. I don't see anything wrong with children knowing the actual terms, it's what they are called....but I don't even call it my vagina. Sounds weird to me View Thread
I hope that the Nourishing Mothers board remains and people remain active on it. I've really enjoyed the board. It's alot of the same mamas and occasionally someone will join in that is new. I like that about it. Making a board invite only seems too clique-ish to me. I don't really come here for that. So I think I will contintue to check NM board and I hope people will continue to post here because I love the conversation!View Thread
Are you on www.diaperswappers.com ? They have a HUGE FSOT and they now have a section for hybrids. I've bought and sold many things on DS. In fact I sold my last 2 fitteds just this morning over there View Thread
I'm on diaperpin and truthfully, I haven't seen good reviews of these. That said, I have never tried them before. Also, most of the women on diaperpin are cloth users so I think the thought is, why go with that when you can get cloth that is the same? Hybrid diapers, like g-diapers are getting quite popular. You might check out the Flip, grobaby and gro-via diaper system or others. I believe you can use disposable inserts with these as well. Here is a link to some of these:
