LOVE the idea! We have a new dads class here that I think is a great idea (maybe get your DH involved?)
I definitely would have loved to have a group like that when I first had DD. Even though my MIL was close by, she is a bit shy and didn't want to "step on my toes" so I had to literally pull information from her! I like the idea of having two moms with different parenting styles. This way women can see that both ways work and figure out which they would like to try, or they can mingle the two. Montanamama, can you please move to VT? lol! Good luck with this!View Thread
oooh I forgot to tell you what we make at least once a week that tastes like hamburger helper but it soo much healthier.
We buy ground beef 85% lean. Brown it with an onion add pasta or rice add veggies (frozen works well, make sure no added sodium) add beans add some type of sauce (we go between pasta sauce & cheese sauce)
You can also do this vegetarian, or with chicken. The possibilities are endless. It also reheats really well.
It takes about 30 minutes if you use pasta, cooked beans, and frozen veggiesView Thread
I think you are definitely on your way to a great start! You will also save a ton of money making food from scratch. Daisy729 had great ideas, and yummy for what you are cooking tonight!
One other suggestion I would make is to use real garlic and onion in your meals. Of course we want our food to taste good but most seasonings have tons of salt in them. We will use fresh or we will buy garlic powder and onion powder instead of the salt version.
ugh I know. I am thinking about making a baby hat and writing Chase Thomas on it. I am not sure if it's a nice gesture or if it will make him sad. I have heard that some parents love the little reminders they have of their little angels but I do not want to cause and undue sadness.View Thread
I was wondering what had happened to this seemingly healthy young mom to be and her little baby. I couldn't help but be scared just having a baby myself. On Sunday night she felt a pain in her stomach so they went to the hospital. She had a fever and they decided to take the baby early as she had a major infection. Her husband was able to hold the baby for a short time before they took him to NICU. The infection was too much for the baby. A short wile later the infection took "the wife's" life as well. The autopsy reveled that she had stage 4 colon cancer! She was only 33! From what I have heard she wouldn't have lived much longer with that type of cancer. She was just so young. It is really awful.View Thread
