side of his head. his GP thinks it is caused by High blood pressure but I am worried about cancer. he is almost 50 years old and has had this for 2 years, it just seems to keep growing. Has anyone else had anything like this?View Thread
So last week I saw online a Groupon for a cheap chiropractic massage. I said what the heck why not, maybe this will help relieve some of my neck pain. So I went to the chiropractor and he took x-rays of my neck but couldn't really tell me too much from what he saw because it wasn't a formal appointment. In the x-ray you can CLEARLY see a large mass on the outside of my neck. I am literally freaking out. I have 2 young girls, I am recently single raising them alone. I don't know what to do. I made an appointment for Friday with a different Doctor in my practice to get a second opinion and I refuse to leave without answers. I am just not sure what this could be. It doesn't seem like a swollen lymph node. I am not really experiencing other symptoms as of now. A slight cough due to the cold circulating around my family, constant headaches that persist throughout the whole day (catscan of head came back clean) and achy shoulders and neck.
Does anyone have ANY insight. I just need to calm myself down before Friday. I am constantly crying literally obsessing over this. I just want to be ok

Questions: How will docs check the spread and control of cancer if PET comes positive due to Sarcoid ? Can SCC diagnosis be confused with Sarcoid too ? How effective is chemo/radio treatment for tonsillar cancer ? Should the left side be left un-radiated ?View Thread

I went to surgeon after some time on 08-Aug-12 and Surgeon observed matted multiple cervical lymphocytes on right side, non-tender. He suspected Rt. Cervical Lympathy and Koch's disease (TB). Given the test for USG Neck (matted lympathy); ESR (20, 35); X-ray chest PA view (Normal); Mantoux Test (negative); Quantiferon TB Gold (TB Feron) — Negative; FNAC Test (Gross — Swelling in the lateral side of neck measuring 4*5 cm from tp hard in consistency; Aspiration — Fine needle aspiration of the swelling revealed white gritty material with haemorrhagic aspirate; Microscopic Exam — Smears studied showed plenty of squamous epithelial cells with normal nucleocytoplasmic ratio aganist necrotic and haemorrhagic background; Impression — Features suggestive of epidermoid cyst. Advised further evaluation and follow-up). Doctor suggested to go for a Biopsy, however, he is having a little doubt on the FNAC results and therefore discussed with Radiologist where the point came out is a big lesion approx 4 cm long with 2cm thick mass. Doctor again advised to go for a FNAC from a different place and depending upon the result followed by CT neck contrast. The test result is due for tomorrow (20-Aug-12). The pathologist spoke to the doctor where he mentioned of something called as PUS. He could take out 1ml of the mass during FNAC. He mentioned to go for other specific test in the same region.
I am confused now as what it may be. Am I suffering from some deadly disease. Please provide suggestion and your thoughts going through my current medical condition. Please note that I don't have Fever, pain, significant weight loss (very minute happened in last quarter), cough. I don't have any past medical history and I am average smoker. I do lead my daily Normal life without any issues. Please let me know what I should do now. Is that Biopsy would give a clear picture or CT scan or MRI. I am not sure. Please help me. I want to get rid of the same as early as possible.View Thread
It has really started to concern me, because I thought it was probably nothing major and that it would just go away. I have made a doctors appointment, but it is not for a couple more weeks. In the meantime, I am really stressing out.
I have included a picture, and it is not gross or anything. I know the picture isn't all that great, but it's the best I could do. I figured I would at least give you some idea of what it looks like.

Does anybody have any insight as to what this might be all about?
Thank you very much!View Thread
I am in a relationship and my better half has cancer on his left side of his neck which hurts him alittle bit. We are not sure what to expect next? Can anyone plz tell us what is nontoxic Nodular Gotter is? Is that the diagnoses? What would be the next step? His doc said more than likely he will have to do chemo and radiation. We are both very nervous about all this so if anyone has any info to share it would be greatly appreciated.

ThanksView Thread

Now the reason that I am even considering the prospect of cancer is that I have been using chewing tobacco for about three months off and on. A terrible idea for someone with an anxiety problem, I know but I figured it would do no harm to chew for three months and stop seeing as my dad has for 20+ years with no problem. I'm quite sure that cancer can develope in three months but it's hard to think rationally at this point. And the scariest of all is the chunk of gross colored stuff that I hacked up today, it smelled vile and I looked up that it could simply be related to tonsil stones or allergies.
I leave for college in a day and all I can think about is the fact that I may have cancer. I cannot get excited about my new start because I feel as though my life is about to come to a screeching halt. I need a fresh perspective on the symptoms I have analyzed over and over again in my head for almost a week(maybe more, i can't be sure). I have talked to my parents about seeing a doctor but they quickly dismissed my symptoms as allergies. So, is it reasonable for me to believe that this neck pain is a result of too much time slouched over looking up symptoms on a computer; that my jaw, ear, lymph node, and throat problems are the result of seasonal allergies? Or should I be worried about these symptoms and take action? I know it rediculous for me to need opinions of strangers for a piece of mind, but it would truely help if someone would take the time to help me out. I have a hard time feeling that these symptoms aren't all related to a deadly cause. Any feedback is greatly apprecitated.
Thank you.View Thread
For the last year or so, I have a feeling of something stuck in my throat, at the base where the collar bone makes the little "V". Sometimes it is worse than others.
There have been times when I could not swallow...food would not go down...actually that started happening before the feeling of something in my throat..but I tried not to panic and would drink some milk or something to try to force it down, which it always did go down. Sometimes it was painful, mostly it was just scary.
Today, I have the feeling in my throat to the point it makes me gag...I have to mentally force myself to not give in to the feeling of ... you know...
Does any of this sound like something? I can't go to a doctor. I have been out of work since May 2008 and live with my daughter. I have no income or insurance, no Medicaid...nothing. I seldom go to a doctor as I am never ill. The last physical I had was 2 yrs ago and it was glowing. Fit as a fiddle.
I am 57, don't drink, have never smoked, I could stand to drop some weight but I am not obese.
Thanks for any responses.View Thread

My Mom had Tonsel Cancer, but THANK THE GOOD LORD she is CANCER FREE going on three years.
What the problem is, is Momma has a VERY FROTHY, SWEET, PUTRID (spl) stuff in her mouth. She is a member to another cancer forum where she talks to people that have had/or has the same try cancer she did. But NO ONE has the symptoms she does from her treatment. Everyone has a VERY DRY Mouth, NO ONE has the FROTHY, SWEET, STICKY YUCK in their month.
Momma has been to numerous doctors and specalist and has had numerious tests done. Not ONE doctor has been able to diagnose the problem.
PLEASE.. PLEASE if the is anyone out there that can give us some suggestions to this problem please help us.
Momma is in good health with the exception of the YUCK in her mouth and this causes her to feel like throwing up and makes her feel blah.
I was wondering if if could have something to do with the crowns on her teeth (she goes to a dentist regularly to have her teeth checked for side effects of the radiation).
Could a person that has been through radiation and cemo develope side effect from the dental crowns/fillings on/in her teeth that have been there for years?
Please help !
God Bless!

My mother was just diagnosed after having 2 polyps removed & biopsied last week. She is 87 years old, a breast cancer survivor & has heart disease as well.
We are considering two options: MOHS surgery or radiation therapy. I would like to know if anyone has had either done for scc inside the nose & what were your experiences with it.
We are meeting with both docs this week & want to make the best possible decision for her. She is still full of life & wants to beat this, as she has heart disease & breast cancer!
Thanks in advance,

My boyfriend was a Jehovah's Witness and therefore refused a blood transfusion after his illness from the 5-FU. This was the biggest problem in his death, but if he had been tested BEFORE he was given the 5-FU and found that he had a DPD deficiency, there may have been an alternative chemo treatment for him. Does anyone know if there would have been?View Thread
I need some advice. I have a mass growing on my thyroid, and 1 week ago a biopsy was done. When I went in for the results today I was told that the cells did not appear to be cancerous, and that they were working right. Then the doctor told me that the cells could just appear to be normal and yet still be cancerous. Now he suggests that I let him remove 1/2 of my thyroid to see if there are any cancerous cells. If so then he would remove the rest of my thyroid. Is there any other way to determine if there are cancerous cells on my thyroid? Why was the biopsy necessary if there still is a 50/50 chance that they didn't remove a certain piece that might be cancerous? I was so afraid of the biopsy that it took me 2 years to get it done. Is there anyway to remove the mass without taking out my thyroid? Can't it be scraped off or something?
The doctor also said that I would have to take thyroid medicine for the rest of my life. Why would I have to pop pills, if my thyroid is removed, and what are the side effects from these pills? I am not a pill popper and I have never had any major surgeries in my life. Is there any way besides taking my thyroid to determine if cells are cancerous. I am so scared, please help!
