Im 56 and have always stood on my feet and had 2 or 3 jobs, I have osteoarthritis everywhere and have had spurs taken off the shoulders, elbows, back of my heels and have both knee replacements and here I am, 2009 found out I had Barretts Esophagus! Well cant take any NSAIDS because of that I developed Barretts or so the doc said! Now my hands have osteo, also lower back and hips....I cant work.....Cant! My brain wants to but the body said enough already! Been working on my feet since 15 and feel used up....I do what I can very gently and thank God Im alive...the Barretts is gone thanks to my degestive Dr, but can never take any NSAIDS, aspirin , and Mayo says that codiene isnt doable either....have done the opiods and you can only feel so good about your pain! Good luck and just remember you are not alone huney, feel free to be here alot and you will always have someone to talk to!View Thread

I can tell you from experience that IB's or any NSAIDS lead to destruction in the long run! I am 55 and have taken these NSAIDS for 23 yrs now and I have GERD, I am also being watched for Barretts Esophagus which is where the stomach lining grows into the esophagus and up into esophagus and I have been treated for this with many ablation treatments, which for me was type 1 dysplasia(cancer) in the lowest phase! I am free of that now and have to take nexium for rest of my life, and can never take NSAIDS again! Dr said thats what caused my problems! I have degenerative joint disease in my hands, neck back, neck ...all of me and cannot take NSAIDSat all! I barely work...and SSDI has been a thought for me! I hate NSAIDS!View Thread
