because I do not do well with narcotics. That is the one thing
that has me very concerned. I had them with a previous
surgery and reacted very poorly to them. Does the ES tylenol
take away all the pain? It is now been two weeks for you.
How is your pain level now? I don't have a recliner but will be
going out today to get one. Sleeping seems to be a problem
for so many people who have gone through this. Please keep
me posted on your progress. I still have two weeks before
my surgery but will be sure to post on how I am doing.View Thread

over 3 months ago and are doing great. Good for you! I
agree with everything you said especially about 80% being up
to me. People have told me that if I don't go to rehab and don't
have therapy then don't get the surgery. My feeling is, if
I am going to put myself through this then I plan on following
through 100%. Thanks for your encouraging words! I am
looking forward to posting again in a few months saying how
great I am feeling. I do believe a positive attitude also helps.View Thread

of something to sit on in the shower. Definitely something to
look into.
love2walk - i can tell by your screen name that you must
have done quite well with the surgery. Also, you are right about
staying positive. I have heard so many times that a positive
attitude helps tremendously. I am positive but very scared.
However, it has to be done.
Thank you bothView Thread

I am wondering if anybody can give me any tips to make things easier
when I come home. I have heard from some people that the biggest
problem they had was sleeping in a bed. They had to sleep in a
recliner for a few weeks because it was more comfortable If that is the case then I am going out to buy a recliner. I just want to be sure
I have everything that I will need to make myself more comfortable.
Any tips people have will be appreciated. I know this is a rough
surgery but I need to stay positive.View Thread

am having it done on Feb. 11th. Of course I am nervous about it but am looking at how I am going to feel a few months from now. I am just wondering if anybody else has experienced what I am feeling now.
It is the left knee that is bone on bone and the Dr said it is severe
osteoarthritis. The past few days the right knee is bothering me.
Sometimes it hurts more than the one that is getting replaced. I am
wondering if that knee is going to or is it normal because I am favoring
the other knee and am not walking right. I am thinking of going back to
the Dr before surgery and getting that one x-rayed. Has anybody else
had that and if so did it go away after surgery?View Thread

would certainly like to give it a try. I hear what you are saying
about the bone on bone coming back to bite me. I know I need the surgery but at this point would like to hold off until Jan.
Where can I purchase the tape
Hoping to hear from youView Thread

Thanks for your response. The thing is it is not the other
knee that hurts. It is on the leg next to the knee, if that makes
sense. I will be walking and all of a sudden it gives out.
I am putting off surgery because I have a terrible time coming
out of anesthesia. I had a custom made brace made for the
bad knee and it is helping. Surgery is a last resort for me! I do think I am favoring the bad knee and you are right about the othe other knee bearing more of the weight.View Thread

leg. The knee doesn't hurt on that leg but it just keeps going out on me.
I am wondering if this is normal or if it is an unrelated problem. It hurts
mostly on the right side of the leg next to the knee. I am wondering if
this could be because I am been favoring the bad knee for so long.
Does anyone have any input on this or have they experienced this.
Thanks fo reading this.View Thread
