I've had this same problem for half a year to a year now. I'm kind of relieved to see so many people with similar issues to mine (not that I wish this on any of you). I don't know anyone who has had this issue and nobody seems to understand when I explain it, but it's almost exactly the same thing as what most of you describe. One day, my chest just randomly popped really loudly and was accompanied by intense pain for just a few seconds and then it went away and felt much better. I just brushed it off because many of my joints, (fingers, back, knees, etc.) and it didn't happen for about a week or so after that. But then it started happening more and more frequently, and at first it didn't hurt much at all. Lately though, it's been happening several times a day and hurts much worse now than it used to. Sometimes the only way to relieve the pain is to pop it, but often it won't pop even when I try to pop it which just leaves it feeling worse. Sometimes when it does pop it hurts worse than it did beforehand. It's really unpredictable, but rarely any pleasant.
I'm a 22 year old male who is generally exceptionally healthy, getting sick only a few days every couple years. I do however often have lower-back pain, frequent headaches (caused by neckaches), and occasionally, though infrequently, jaw pain. My mother has always had fragile joints since she was a young teenager so I'm guessing I got some of that.
I'm going to take some of your advice, specifically about my posture because I do spend a LOT of time in front of a computer. If this keeps getting worse at it's current rate though, I'm going to have to get it looked at by a doctor. Hopefully the doctor I go to will know what it is. It's a bit unsettling when doctor's are stumped. Thanks for the tips, everyone and good luck!View Thread
