I am 59 and had both knees replaced 3 and a half weeks ago. I needed both done and decided to just do it. It has been a hard three weeks but I can wak without a walker or cane. I am surprised how quickly the exercises and how much I improve everyday. After my staples were taken out I don't have to use the shower chair.
I did have t have a blood transfusion and was in the hospital for 4 days but came home with my husband as my coach and cook. No doubt you wil need help and it is hard but I am surprised that I vacuum and g up and down the stairs slowly and throw frisbee t my dog. I walk a half mile a day with my husband.
Keep the ice packs handy and do the exercises and don't be afraid to take your pain medication as needed and recommended by your doctor. I would do it again. Less pain than I had before with no cartillage. Go for it!!View Thread
