I was diagnosed a couple years ago with osteoporosis, I am now 66 years of age. For the past three years I was going to the gym. My work out consisted of the tread mill, recumbent bike and weight bearing exercises.
Since November I started with pain in my lower back. I now have been diagnosed with Osteophytes formation on the spine and also my vitamin D level is low. My doctor recommended taking 2,000 units of D3.
My question: Because of the Osteophytes what can I expect, daily pain???? I do not want to be taking pain relievers daily. I am not any meds and prefer not to be unless absolutely necessary.
Also I would like to get back to the gym but I am not sure what I should be doing. I was told the tread mill and recumbent bike is ok. Is it ok to keep doing the weight bearing exercises as well???? I have a bad knee and some of the weight machines were to help strengthen the muscle area around my knee which really helped.
