I am 73 years old and do have Osteoporois. I have had several fractures (5) over the past 20 years and am on Calcium w/D. I have a back molar that the oral surgeon wishes to extract as I have a fractured root. Several years ago this tooth was suggested to be extracted and my appointment was scheduled only to learn that since I was on Fosamax, he was unable to extract the tooth. I now am on Reclast (for the past 4 years) and once again faced with the possible extraction of this back molar. I do have pain from time to time with this tooth; however, my primary care put me on Prevacid about 10 years ago and as long as I take Prevacid, that tooth is fine. My concern in having this tooth extracted is the possibility of the osteonecrosis. I meet with the oral surgeon tomorrow and would like more information as to whether a good idea to extract. My next round of Reclast is to be in July 2012.View Thread
