My son just had a bone density scan with a z score -4.6 femoral neck bone mineral density. (He had a bone marrow transplant in June, 2011, and has had several rounds of steroids for graft versus host disease and Evan's Syndrome.) I understand the z score, but I am trying to figure out what it all means to him. His spine z score was only -0.1, so that isn't as worrying. His transplant doctor said he will need to be followed by a specialist, but that is as far as we got, as it was the end of the day, and we were late for our next appointment.View Thread
