Has anyone else had this kind of problem? I do not want to jump to cancer, but it is hard not to. I hate getting this run around. Suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.View Thread
so she takes this hormone tab and then it caused her to develop a blood clot in her lung - her hometown hospital and Dr took her off of the hormone tab....She goes back to iowa city for ck up and her leg swelling and about the situation that happened in town with a blood clot and all they did was subscribe some type of cancer pill to take.
They DO NOTHING for her at all - almost like they are scared to cut her open and remove those 3 tumors for fear of what they will find when they get in there???? NOW her leg is getting worse and worse with swelling due to tummor sitting on the artery or nerve or whatever,
she is miserable and to top it off NOW she has lost some 25 lbs and
looks TERRIBLE. WHY won't anyone remove these tumors and if NOW they want to say the are benign ovarian cancer tumors, then WHY not take them out like they did 18 years ago and 3 years ago AND WHY won't they do something to help her swollen leg and ankle???? I just don't get it at all what is all going on with her and all these doctors who give her the run around. WHAT should she do and how can she be helped or do you think she honestly has MALIGNANT OVARIAN CANCER tumors????? I am not getting satisfied with anyone's answers on this problem??? THANKS!View Thread
From a CA125 with a high of 647 a few months ago, it is now 31!!! As it turns out, I am not post-menopausal, just getting closer. My gyno/oncologist has really stayed on top of things, but didn't want to do anything rash. After a number of long discussions, we agreed that it might be better to wait and see for a few months, rather than jumping into surgery that might not be immediately necessary. He didn't feel like my symptoms could be cancer, and so far he is right. I am very lucky and grateful that he is such a smart man and a great doctor!
I still want tohave a hysterectomy, and my ovaries removed. I'm just glad that we didn't rush into it. Hopefully all will stay okay until he can do the surgery robotically or vaginally. Thanks for your responses! Good luck and good health to all!View Thread
I have noticed that I get migraines before an ovarian cyst ruptures. I was wondering if there are hormones being released during the time prior to and during a rupture that could cause a migraine, or if it is just a coincidence?
Thanks,

While I understand this response I see other patients on my Ongology Surgery wing flying around the halls as part of their recovery. My husband keeps telling me that their surgeries were not as severe as mine.
To fill you in, my surgery included the following: total omenomectomy, removal of both ovaries, fellopian tubes and uterous, removal of the ascending portion of my colon (due to tumors on the colon) and a large portion of the illeum which is where my chrons was most prevelant and had a bowel resection. I addition to all of that they had to vacumm my diaphram to remove tumors on the diaphram and in other places in my abdomen as well. I believe that is what took place during my surgery, which took 6 hours to complete.
Wow, when I put the surgery in writing it does sound severe or "huge" as the doctors continue to tell me.
I guess my main question is how long will this lethargy last?
I would entertain any and all advice on this topic. I look forward to your entries.
Thank you.View Thread
I had an IUD placed May 8th, but by the end of Nov. I was having really bad periods, to the point I bled for 6 weeks (either spotting to flooding). My GYN took out my IUD on Dec 1st, but did not check for any infection or anything. He just mentioned that I seemed to be very tender and put me the Nuvaring. Well that ran my BP to 190/110 so I went off that and went back with even more symptoms. My GYN basically brushed me off of all concerns I had, yet said that I was a bit more tender than before. Well the symptoms I was TRYING to tell him was the following: I stay tired ALL the time, my stomach looks swollen, I'm nauseous most of the time, I have to run to the BR all night & day, and my periods are still "not right". Not to mention I have a history of ovarian cysts. Should I be concerned about ovarian cancer if it does not run in my family?View Thread

I am KAT4365 from Columbus OH and a stage IV survivor.
Was diagnosed in 12 2008 and in remission for year. Am now just completing my second round of treatment due to relapse in July 2010.
I am happy to hear of this forum and agree with CMC1234 that we need to keep the faith, abide in hope, and live life to the fullest each day. Doctor's predictions on life expectancies for us late stagers need to be kept in proper perspective.
Tommorrow is history, the future a mystery, today is the gift..that's why we call it "the present".
Would love to stay in touch but don't quite understand if I can chat "individually" with anyone in this group. Is "start a discussion" the only way to "chat?"
God bless each of you.View Thread

Is it necessary for her to have a CAT Scan, even though nothing has been showing up in the blood work?
Thanks!View Thread
