Have you been eating your asparagus? How are you doing?View Thread

I am watching your posts and have a question. I think your first post mentioned that you were having blood in your stool. Was this due to ovarian cancer or was something else going on?
I ask because my mother is a year out from diagnosis and 6 months from treatment. She had a small recurrence and has been on tamoxifen for 3 months. Now she is seeing blood in her stool. Her blood count is ok and she has a CT scan tomorrow but the GI doc said the CT scan may or may not show colon/intestinal spread. I don't see any other posts that mention the bloody stool so I was jut wondering if this is also a syptome?View Thread

My Mothers Oncologist just put her on Tamoxifen for Ovarian Cancer. She completed chemotherapy in July and by November a small tumor showed up in her peritoneum, where the cancer was before. Her CA125 has been rising also. Since she is 88 years old and her magnesium is only 1.1 the oncologist said no chemo right now since the tumor progression is small. The oncologist said that in elderly patients he has had some degree of success slowing tumor growth with Tamoxifen. I am wondering if anyone else is taking Tamoxifen and what your experience has been. Except for the cancer my Mom is in great shape and living independently.
Thank You!View Thread

Your symptoms could be from the conditions already diagnosed or they could be something going on that are masked by the cysts and fibroid.
Having a mother with OC I am not willing to take any risks.
Good luck to you and please keep posting.View Thread

Surgery and chemo you continue to have to fight the beast?
Has there been a metastasis or something? I am trying to understand the behavior of the beast!
Maybe I should look into a local support group. I am working two jobs and trying to keep up with my Mom and a grandchild so previously the thought of meetings was overwhelming but I may just have to try to find time.

I am reading posts about other chemo drugs and wondering what if any side effects.View Thread
