If you are reading these posts I want to say that I am so sorry that you didn't get any relief from Nucynta. This medication, along with Fentanyl patches, have been like a miracle for me. I was put on Dilaudid and it didn't help in the least. The other problem is that I am allergic to alot of medications, like oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine...etc.
You did not say if you were taking any other medication like Cymbalta? If you are taking this type of medication there is a chance that you could have a reaction called Seratonin Syndrome, I am not saying that you have it but if you are taking antidepressants with Nucynta it is always a possibility.
Nucynta is known for either working wonderfully well for patients or giving them horrible side effects. You just happen to be one of the unlucky ones. Please go to Nucynta.com and read all about this medication. You should always look up a medication and know what you are taking before you start any new medication.
I wish you good luck but just because you are having problems please do not doom others, who have success with this medication, to a life severe pain cause you can't take it. I hope the FDA leaves it on the market for the people who it works for.
Take care,

I don't think that your statement about back pain not getting you awarded disability. I only had a diagnosis of lower back pain which does not allow me to work in my profession as a nurse.
As long as you have a decent lawyer and you cannot be retrained with your disability he might have a chance of getting disability. ALWAYS get a lawyer because SS loves to turn you down twice before they give it to you. They kind of wish they can aggravate the heck out of you or you will miss one of your deadlines for turning in your papers to turn you down again.
Just putting my 2 sense in.

In my experience, doctors who prescribe powerful medication are extremely cautious about giving a patient who has a history of suicide attempts alot of pain medication. They are so worried that you will use their prescription to try another suicide attempt and they think that they may be sued because they know your history. It's terrible, I know, and I am so sorry that you can't get the proper medication.
I know that you think back surgery might be your answer but there are more failed back surgery than anyone might want to admit.
I hope you find the answers that you are seeking.
