Next time, watch a real news station to get your information. Faux news is NOT a news channel. It is one of those sensationalize everything the stupid Rethuglicans want you to hear kind of station! Fox news is for the ones that accept lie after lie after lie etc. ad infinitum!!!!
OH GREAT, another sad sac ruining it for everyone else! Selfish brat! A $20 a day habit is no habit at all!!! Look at the ones going $300 a day? Now THAT, is an addict!
Yep, brew_fool, you were very right, I love this one!!! $20 a day??? Most need twenty an hour, or less?! LOL!!!
I smell a big phony!!!! Another scumbucket tired of living in mommies basement, so he pulls this stunt? This is the real reason they want us off of what works! Idgits suing their Dr.'s who are trying to help them?
If these wanna be millionaires keep this up, even the Great and Powerful Ozbama couldn't stop them. LOL!!!
Getnhealthy has some good ideas! I go along with her on seeing your Dr. again! This time, don't take no for an answer. You need to make up a schedule, or a diary of when the pain occurs, how often, how much pain it causes on the scale of one to ten, ten being horrible, no can take pain? Know what I mean? And be sure to write down any questions you can think of, or at the time it hurts, how much it hurts, etc.
I think you may have an inside issue? Uterus, tubes, etc. etc.? I heard of something just like this? After doing those tests, they found out she had an infection in he uterus? Tubes? Something female organ? LOL!!! I surely cannot name them all right off the top of my dead head! LOL!!!
I hope you find what you are looking for right here? Maybe not in the something I say, but in someones response to you?
Hey, this may not work for you, but it did for me? I went in to the V.A. hospital in Neb. and as I was talking to my new Dr. I started screaming help me, please someone please help me? The pain is unbearable!!! Etc. etc. She was loathe to put me on narcotic drugs so she used the Tramidol. Well, as I was walking back home, I started to "UN_THINK"? I couldn't hold any conversation with my best friend? I called her right then and there and told her how this drug was effecting me? She asked if I could turn around and come back? No, not walking anyway, so I took a bus. She gave the pharmacy a script for me of Methadone. Plus, for breakthrough pain oxycodone 5mg.. That was awesome, the way the pain melted away to the background?! Oh, I still felt the burning sensation in my arm, but this was waaay better than Ibuprofen!!! Slowly I went up on doses as I got used to them, and once I hit a 1000mgs. a day, she switched me over to Morphine e.r. 100mgs. three times a day. Plus the oxycodone. Gradually I went up to 700 a day, and the oxycodones. After I got used to this, my now pain doc let it ride there and added Lyrica for the burn. This all felt okay. After a while tho, it stops working so, I asked the doc if I could go back down to the 400 range? Oh yes, he agreed right now, all because of this new congressman Dr.? Well, he must think he is a doctor the way he is making everyone in the V.A. system wean off of the narcotic drugs? I will skip the weaning down to 400. I have been at that same dose ever since
Yep, they considered all of those suicide death were all because of the narcotic drugs? Well, after survey after survey they were proven wrong, but that didn't stop ole congressman Dr. No way, this will be his signature accomplishment! Plus, he doesn't suffer from the pain and agony we feel every day, some of us ALL DAY & NIGHT!!! Damned RETHUGLICANS!!! All they care about is their bottom line! Or, their corporate masters? My guess is; Big Pharma has some other, more expensive form of treatment going? That is why they ALL want us off the narcotics!!!
Steven, I am so sorry if I bored you? I get kinda windy sometimes? The community would tell you it is all the time. LOL!!! I hope you can get the relief you need, or surgery should still be a last resort?! My neck is full metal now, someday, I too will need surgery on the small of my back with my degenerative disc disease? I hate surgeries, but sometimes, we have to do what we have to do!
As far as the V.A. goes, they too are starting a program to wean everyone off of the narcotic meds. I have been told this, and I also looked it up on-line, sure enough, it is all to real. You can thank your congressmen/woman for this change! They say there is way too many suicides from using these types of drugs? WHAT??? For the most part, if they would have taken the time to look, they would have seen how many of those suicides were from those who had been in war. Suffering from P.T.S.D., the whole nine yards! So, in the congressman's/women's minds, we are ALL OF US addicts and need their intervention?! I call B>S> when I see it, and this guys thinking is all turned around!!! Sometimes, people need opiates to control their chronic pain, but do these guys care? Hell NO! As long as you put an idiot in charge, you get idiotic results!!! And THAT, is what WE GOT, an IDIOT IN CHARGE of OUR chronic pain! This guy holds no phd, nothing, just another wannabe in a field of wannabes!!!
Wow, a lot of great help on one page! I agree with all of the others! You are NOT addicted, you are in PAIN!!! Pain comes in all shapes and sizes, so therefore, the answers will also come in the same, right? RIGHT!!!
You need to get with a Pain Management Specialist!!!
One of the good ones will have you right in less than two weeks!!! ASK your Primary Care Physician for a referall? He should be aquainted with at least one? Do this for YOU, not your hubby, not your great aunt Millie, no one but YOU!!! This IS YOUR PAIN, not anyone else! Get one pain doc. to help, if he fails you, find another till YOU get the HELP YOU NEED!!!
One good pain doc. is worth more than all the gold in Fort Knox!!! I know, I suffered long before I realized what I needed went far beyond what my doc. knew about chronic pain. Only one that has extensive training on chronic pain, will be able to help you! And in the right way, too!
To find the help you need, if your regular doctor does not know of one, ask at the front desk, or go on-line and find one practising in your area, and make an appointment! Look in the phone book, who knows, one might be in there?
Wow, sorry to hear that! Someone is no friend to you! But hey, I was always led to believe the withdrawal could last up to two weeks on most narcotic meds, but you should have gotten more ease than you say, at least a dr. would tell you that? 18 days now? Wow, I am so glad I turned down those patch's!!!
I take morphine 100's four times a day, now. I was up to 7 hundred's a day, plus my oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I was told a withdrawal from these would be a nightmare? I believe this because my dr. once forgot to renew my script before she left for a two week vacay? I was going nuts by the end of the first day off!!! The morning of the second day, after a night of tossing and turning, I went to the V.A. hospital in Omaha. The nurse told me I would have to wait for my pain dr. to write the script? I told her there was no way I was leaving without my morphine! A doctor showed up, told me the same thing the nurse said, I told him the same thing I told the nurse! Well, after a war of wills, the dr. went and found someone to write a script for just long enough for my dr. to return. Thank you, that was all I wanted, good day Trust me, I know what you are going through!!! I feel so sorry for you, and me now, cause I can't help you?!
The only thing I can tell you is this; try using C.B.T.? Have you heard of this? It is cognitive behavioral therapy. Try concentrating on an object, make that object all there is. Try deep breathing for a minute first, just to relax, if possible? This is going to be difficult, but what the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve! You have to believe it will work or you won't get it? I quit smoking that way, and I am still smoke free! Any time I felt like having one, I would deep breathe for a couple minutes, and think of how nice it was to breathe this way, and I wouldn't have one?! You CAN do this, your mind knows this, but your body is dictating to your mind that you need drugs? Reverse that, and you will not want those drugs, at least not until you can get some? It can work, I know it can, you have to believe in you!!!
I hope something in here will help you out, even if only a bit?!
I used to take Ibuprofen 800 two at a time, four times a day, and it must have done something to my liver, the doc. took me off of it quite suddenly? And he would never say why, exactly? Well, I asked my V.A. doc. and she said it looks like it was starting to effect your liver? It is okay, now, I guess? All the blood tests come back great? Sooo? I will have to ask my doc. today when she calls? Thanks for that tip!!!
Wow, this last one was on my c5-c6-7. That makes me a full metal neck. LOL!!! My first two were killers. And everyone from my nurse, to the surgeon were telling me that this one, would top both of those, hands down?! Well, I guess they were all wrong? That dr. that surgeon that did my surgery, was there when I had my sutures removed. He asked me how it felt, and when I told him I felt much better, he looked shocked? I told him except for the tightness and swelling, it feels pretty good? He was smiling so brightly, I swear he glowed?! I told him that, except for that, the limited movement was way more than I expected? He said I tried to give you what your degenerated discs would allow, so its a plus, then? I said you got that right, doc.! He grinned, shook my hand, gave me a slip for rehab, and said I will see you in a couple more months. Great! That was on the 16th., and I still have no okay from the V.A.?! Par for the course with them!
Well, Annette, there you have it, the whole story! LOL!!!
Its good to post, again! And so far, everything is looking good. I was pretty scared going in since even the surgeon said I would have a lot more pain this time, than the last two from the front?I had less pain, and this one from the back of my neck? I looked through the double mirror system, and the scar is looking pretty good?!
I do have some movement limitations, but better than I ever expected! And the best part, the bones are no longer grinding on each other? That was sooo creepy, just the feel of it? There are soft discs in our necks for a reason, to keep the bones from grinding on each other. LOL!!! I most definitely have a full metal neck, now.
How are you getting along, Dave? Any better, or any better relief since last I was here? How's the wife, the family? All great, I hope?! I lost my father Sept. 23rd. 2013, not sure if you guys knew, or not? Well, that is it, no more parents or grandparents left. I am down to one aunt left, and two uncles. After that, it is just us "kids"? LOL!!! At 56, I sure don't feel like no kid! LOL!!!
