Hi Grace, Missed you lady. Glad we are connecting again. Yep I am still struggling with depression too. How you been? My psch dr finally uped my anti-depressants, so time will see. Hopefully I will get my desire back or maybe the energy. I can make an empty like happen, but right now I have no will to do it. And living alone with no friends or contacts makes can make it easy to think about not being here. I know too that these pain meds have put a damper on me. My body feels pretty good, so I think I don't really need them. Maybe I should just go off them. But when I do cut back for an hour - and I feel my body again. And it's not OK. I wish something could be created that could make me tolerable at this rate with out the hydros. On Facebook, I am on a private chronic pain site and they share alot of info on there. There was an article on therethat many people with chronic pain have ptsd. I always knew that. My thoughts were that the abuse probably caused some of my pain (children with migraines, why?). Well enough of me rambling, gosh I hope you are feeling better soon. Can I give you my email address or would you rather keep it here? Take care, DebView Thread
Hello, AA was a life saver for me. Today I don't go to AA, because it's my personal choose. However I made that decision after attention for over 15 yrs. I would recommend AA in a heartbeat. AA is what YOU make it, it or any other program works if you/me do the simple steps. Don't use and show up. There is anonymity and it starts with you/me. It's up to us to be respectful, not gossip, and share only our our stories. We are there for us, the rest we leave when we leave the building. We read the material, books, and get active. The money is used for coffee, cups, lights, and rent many items we just take for granted. Many people never give any money so theres not as much money as one might think. Than again it is overseen by a bunch of "alcoholics" so it gets frustrating at times if you get on the business end of it. Cause yes sometimes there can be "dry drunks" at an AA meeting even after 10 years. No body is perfect, it's just one day at a time. Judging each other doesn't help any cause. A Power Greater than all of us is what the program is based on and that power is called God. I am not stating anything religious or out of line, this is mentioned in the Big Book. Also it is mentioned in most AA meetings at least once. God could mean "good orderly direction". I don't know what you experienced, sorry it sure don't sound good. Hope one day you might try another place another time. They are all different, just start and end kind of the same. But some are so loving and accepting, it's like you found home for the first time. Take care and thanks for your post.View Thread
cweinbl, Have you tried the Suboxone or Naloxone? I am curious to how they work. Do they help pain? When can one start taking them? I know not just any doctor can prescribe them. These hydro's are so hard on my tummy with the gastric bypass and all. And if they really help with pain, I think I would rather be off pain meds. But I do not want to deal with the pain again. Thanks DebView Thread
Hi Grace My meds got changed (too much at once) because of memory troubles. Mine was long term memory. So I was taken off the Gabapentin, which helped I guess. Also helped because I was just numb but I still need some, it helps with the burning. As for you other posting, all my doctors are within one system so they all have access to my med list. So everytime I go see a doctor they go throught the meds and print it off. Also since I use the same pharmacy for the last 20 years I trust them alot for answers. If you sure a pharmacy for answers make sure they and your doctors are aware of ALL pills/vitimans you use at home. All that stuff has impact too. That stuff is all listed on my med list with my doctors. As for that new med you started, yep I think it's the same I am on. I am on 20 mg been on for long time. my doc (psychiatrist) won't increase, I do see her this week. I am on for depression and she choose because it helps with pain. I don't see any pain relief but am not feeling depressed. Grace the show 20/20 I think it was had a thing about these video games "snow something" helping with pain. Did you see that? Can you see that all us chronic pain people being stuck to a video game machine all day. LOL We would for sure have no life. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. DebView Thread
I would like some suggestions from the group. I am on Savella, Gabapentin, Topiramate, Hydrocodone 10/325, and Nortriptyine. Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, some arthritis, and Neuropathy here and there. Much trouble with left side of body (arm & leg) from car accident 2007, have burning throughout body. I have 2 concerns first is I had gastric bypass in 2005, never any problems. But now it seems sometimes when I eat - as food is digesting - my body burns more. Second concern is both my leg are very very sensitive to the tough - specially lower legs. Also I bruise very easily, had many test - no cancer. Doctors are always so quick now to say Fibromyalgia. Is this all apart of Fibromyalgia? I hate that that is becoming the answer for everything. Does anyone else have very sensitive legs as I described? Also as anyone else had the gastric bypass or maybe just experience similiar symptoms as explained? I am not getting any answers only frustration.View Thread
