As for your question if anyone else has used a tens unit. I have. It does not help me at all, but I have very diffirent problems from yours. I think that can be a very useful tool for some types of pain. I hope it helps you! Good luck!View Thread
I agree that we are the "witches"! It just makes me so angry sometimes. I also agree that we have no choice but to adhere to our contracts to the "t". Sometimes, that's hard to do. I have short term memory loss and cannot always remember everything in the contract, which makes this very scary for me. Once when I had a surgery, I forgot to contact my PM dr. and was taking addt'l pain meds due to the surgery and got in trouble. Bad mistake!
I just don't know why they(DEA) can't understand that we(non-cancer chronic pain sufferers) are not the "witches" that they are looking for???View Thread
It's unfortunate, but many times we are treated and looked aat like addicts. I would think that a real addict would get their drugs off the street, but how would I know? It is very sad that chronic pain sufferers must also suffer by being treated like you're an addict. It's not like we don't have enough problems without that.View Thread
Finn2, I agree with you. I would turn over the leftover med's if asked to, but I sure wouldn't want to. It's not b/c I want to sell them or that I have a "nefarious agenda". I paid for them and for those of us in a tremendous amount of pain, it's very scary to think that one day you may need something and not have it. When i was trying out diffirent med's to see what works best for me, my doc usually let me use what I had bought before switching me to something else. I have a lot of diffirent specialist who prescribe meds based on their specialty and they can all keep up to date on what's being prescribed to me using their computer system.View Thread
I do all my christmas shopping on line. All year long, anytime I see something that I know someone would appreciate for christmas, b-days, etc., I go ahead and buy it. You can come across some very good deals this way. I definatley think gift cards are a nice gift, as well as money. That way, you know they are able to buy something that they will enjoy.
Merry Christmas and Have a Blessed New Year!!View Thread
I had a good Thanksgiving even though I was sick and in pain. For me, it's mostly just my mom & 21 yr old son. We will all get together at my brother & his wife's house this year at Christmas. It's always such a pleasure to be with my son. He's got a very busy life with work, school & friends that I don't get to see him as much as I would like. I'm very thankful that he has a full life though. My main concern for the holidays is as usual, I'm afraid that I'll overdo. I haven't had a painfree day in 10 yrs so I've learned to stay calm & carry on. Nevertheless, it's a real upper just to be with the family.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas & Happy New year!! Most of all, as pain free as possible!!!
First of all, let me tell you how much I appreciate you serving our country and I am very sorry for the problems and pain you are now having due to that!! I am also sorry that you are having trouble getting your pain meds now. This new dr. should not be giving you a hard time. period! But we all have or have had this kind of problem before. Do you have to see this doctor or can you go back to one that you have seen before?? If at all possible, I would try to see a diffirent doctor. It pains me that I hear so many problems with our VA system! God bless you and your family and best of luck with getting the meds you need!View Thread
