I have been thru two arthoscopic disc surgerys and three fusion surgerys and had constant nagging pain in the l3/4 and 5/1 regions just to the right side of my spinal column. I thought that I would have to live with the pain for the rest of my life but luckily I found out different. My orthopedic surgeon sent me to a pain management doctor that he knew, that doctor did a procedure on my back burning the nerve into coming from the disc at the fusion site and that eliminated all the pain for four years. Its a simple procedure done in his office where they use needles to pass micro-wave energy between two probes and burning the nerve in two parts, thus interrupting the pain signal. Eventually the nerve grows back together, after 5 years mine has just grown back together so I am going back to get it burned again but I highly recommend this procedure to anyone that has that post fusion surgery pain and don't want pain the rest of their life and can't get any relief from pain medications.View Thread
