Dear QueenBean8: I haven't had back surgery (yet) because my chiropractor is awesome. However, my health insurance company fights me all the way to the bank about paying for what they call "maintenance" visits. Find a doctor who will listen to you; no matter how many you have to go through, and ask him to be your partner in developing a quality lifestyle. You may have fibromyalgia, which is what I have, but you may not. Only a doctor can diagnose it. Find a support group locally, and try water therapy. It helps a lot! Good luck to youView Thread
Kim, try a local support group, water theray, and being around only positive people. Stay away from negative people. Period. Friend, family or foe. You don't need that. Attitude is a lot of it. Watch TV to take your mind off of it, and use a heating pad for falling asleep. All the above work for me. Of course, I am on some medications: amitryptilebe for sleep, Celexa for the nerve paid, and I take Hydrocodone if needed. Other than that I try to stay busy. Your new job may help a lot. But if it's overly stressful it will be a negative. Good luck!View Thread
