Back pain is often caused by back muscle strain while sleeping. This is the treatment. Place an oversize pillow or two pillows under your knees. If you have a bed that can adjust to the "zero" gravity position this will help. I used my bed to raise the head slightly and the legs are also raised more than the head. I lay on my back slightly to one side or the other. I cut out a lumbar support pad from a mattress topper of foam padding to fit under one side of the lumbar area. About 3-4" by 6-8". If I place it under the right lumbar then I lean a little to the left and vice versa. Once I did the above I was much better and now have hardly 10% of my previous pain. I did have a discectomy of L4-5 or maybe L3-4 in 2001.View Thread
