I am seeing a podiatrist who seems to have an extensive background in foot/ankle injuries.
I am always hesitant to tell doctors about having pain and/or asking them for something stronger then the usual over the counter meds. I always feel like they are treating you as if you are drug seeking.
Thank you for the response. I appreciate it.View Thread
I failed to mention I cannot use crutches due to the fact that I just had wrist surgery less then a month ago. I am not able to bear weight on that wrist or arm it is still healing. Otherwise, I would gladly have opted for crutches.
I do not have the luxury of taking time off work. I am still working my full time job, driving to and from work, cooking, cleaning, etc etc so I can't just sit on my butt and stay off of it. Therefore "getting over it" is not as simple as one would think.View Thread
I just found out I had a fracture in my foot and possibly my ankle (still waiting for those MRI results) and was put into a walking boot for a few weeks. My foot/ankle did cause me pain but wearing this boot is KILLING me. My whole body is out of wack, back hurts, hips hurt, my other ankle hurts, and now I'm a slave to advil and tiger balm. I really do not know what to do at this point for an relief. Sitting around not being able to do much contributes to my back pain. I work behind a desk all day so I do try to get up and limp around as much as I can and do floor stretching at night. At this point advil/Tylenol, etc are pretty much useless. Not to mention the fact that the area of my foot that is fractured still does hurt alot. All of this is happening right after a wrist surgery I am still recovering from. So does anyone have an advice on how to get some kind of relief? Anything I could or should be doing to help while I wear this stupid boot? It is making me so depressed.View Thread
I just got diagnosed with a foot fracture. After a few months of some strange random pain I decided to just go to the doctor and had some x-rays plus an MRI because generally fractures do not show up in x-rays until they are healing. Right now I have to wear a walking boot for a few weeks. Not fun especially in the middle of summer. My advice would be to go see a podiatrist and get an x-ray at least. The thing with fractures is if they do not heal properly they could potentially become a full break. Then you possibly might need surgery or an actual cast with very limited mobility. Good luck.View Thread
