Im not sure if the ER's dislike of using Demerol is related to drug addicts but I do know that drug addicts will go to the ER to get pain injections or prescriptions for Opiods. We have to remember that a drug adict isnt only those ppl who snort Coke and shoot up, they are also the unfortunate ppl who got addicted to Opoid drugs do to thier pain.View Thread
Meaningfulc, Ive seen many gyns and they have prescribed Lyrica, which hardly works. Before that they prescribed Gabbapentin and Amatryptaline, those were useless. Ive had a Ganglion par Nerve RFA, Pudendal Nerve RFA, a Groin-somethingish RFA and am set up for another RFA next Friday. SSDD if ya ask me. Im also going to talk to a Dr. about doing surgery.
So anyways, sorry it took me so long to get back to you, my mother had cancer and just passed away two days ago. I have to have a Ganglion par block done tomorrow just so I can make it to her funeral.
CVS has been very good to me. They have never given me a problem with filling my pain meds. I have had trouble getting pain prescriptions from many Dr.s and its because of the DEA. Dr.s are afraid that someone may abuse the med that they had prescribed and then wake up dead the next morning. The DEA may take their license. So we get screwed over, the Dr.s get screwed over, the drug abuser totally screw us over.View Thread
Hello CTBeth, I have a gyno and pain specialst but neither know how to treat my pain properly. My pain issue is vulva related but neither gyno nor pain specialist knows what to do when my pain level gets out of hand. As it is, the meds they have me on now dont work very well even when my pain levels are at a low 4. Im hoping to find the right med, or procedure or sursery to fix the problem and I wont ever have to think about the ER ever again.
Thanks for all the info. on the medication. Have a good day hunView Thread
Thank you hun. I never did go in to get the injection. Instead I took a Hydrocodone and Lorazepam and then sat on an ice pack. I was hurting so badly that I started hyperventilating. Thank goodness my pain level started to go down after that.
Next time this happens and the pain level stays high, I will go to the ER. They can give injections for Demerol which should help the pain. Thanks againView Thread
Hello peeps, I have Vulva Lichen Simplex Chronicus which is chronic burning pain of the vulva. My pain is that of nerve/skin pain. I called urgent care and they said the only pain injection they can give is Toradol. I am wondering if that would help nerve pain? My pain level is a 9+. I am suffering terribly. I don't want to go to Urgent Care if Toradol won't help. Please, if anyone has any information about this inject I am begging you to let me know.
