Hi peeps, I have nerve pain in the most sensitive of areas (down south), called Vulva Lichen Simplex Chronicus, anyways I have tried Gabba- Pentine (sp) and Amaptryptiline (sp) but they failed to help. Then I was put on Lyrica which took the pain away completely for almost two months. It was Heaven. Then the Lyrica stopped working as well so they upped the dose to three times a day. Even upping the dose didn't help much. I continue to take Lyrica because it takes the edge off, sometimes, and other times NOTHING. Can any of you suggest some other pain meds to try for nerve pain?
Also, Lyrica can scramble my brain, I can't concentrate, remember things, and doing anything thing that requires brain function, forget it. Plus I'm on Tramadol and Methocarbamol for chronic neck, back and tail bone pain. Also Lorazepam for anxiety but I also use it when my pain meds. cause breathing problems. So mix all of those together and I'm really in another world. uuggghhh. I sometimes wonder if all of these drug are damaging my inner body and/or brain. I feel like a zombie sometimes and would love to just feel like myself again. Do you guys feel the same way?View Thread
Because of my VLSC pain issue I have been seeing a Pain Specialist. Ive posted on here about my Pudendal Nerve RFA (didn't work) and my Ganglion Par RFA (also didn't work), So now they are going to do a Peripheral Nerve Block. I'm not sure that I even know what it is. So I'm going into this blind. All I know is the Dr. said they may do it through my vulva area, ouchie. I'm actually hoping that they do because that is where my pain is. But the last two procedures they did in my lower back area.
Has anyone had a Peripheral Nerve Block? Can you tell me a bit about it? I have the procedure tomorrow. The Dr. never goes into details, she just pretty much points at the pic. on the wall and says "here is the peripheral nerve". The apt. is quick and fast, to the point, no explanations and I am left wondering WTH is going on? My pain specialist isn't the one doing the procedure, its a surgeon who does it. She just sends the orders to him.
Hello Deansmimi, Although your post disappeared, the topic drew my attention.
What does the pain feel like? Is it sharp, burning, dull or something else? I have lower back pain as well and it is caused by the way I sit. I have LSC which causes burning pain of the vulva area. Because of that pain I am forced to sit back on my tail bone. After sitting like that for over a year, the burning pain spread down my buttocks area and the inner thighs. Now I have lower back pain and tail bone pain. So the Pudendal nerve might be pinched and is causing the spreading of my pain.
So I was just wondering if perhaps your Pudendal nerve could be pinched.View Thread
I totally appreciate all the info. that you have given me. I will talk to my pain specialist about getting the hydro from her and if she wont prescribe it to me, then I will have to get a form from her saying that she is aware that my other Dr. is prescribing the hydro and vise versa from my other Dr. as well.View Thread
Hello Pesky, When I first saw my pain specialist, which was only two months ago, I wrote down all the meds that I was currently taking. I also said something about it when I first talked to her. So she is aware that Im taking Hydrocodone. The Dr. who prescribed the Hydro. is aware that Im taking all the other meds as well. I am hoping that my pain specialist will prescribe the Hydro as well. She kinda poo poo'd it away when I told her what I was taking. So I dont know if she will prescribe it or not. But then again, she wanted to deal with one pain issue at a time and she was trying to get the LSC under control first (thats what Im taking Lyrica for).
The only thing that I havent done is to get each Dr. to sign something saying that they are aware of what each Dr. is prescribing. (did that even make sense?) This entire thing is so confusing.View Thread
Hi Grace,(poss. trigger) I have Lichen Simplex Chronicus Vulva. So it causes me constant burning pain around my entire vulva area, down my behind cheeks and my inner thighs. Sometimes, even after taking Lyrica, I will just cry because Im in so much pain. Sitting is EXTREMELY painful. It makes it hard for me to drive. So when I sit I have to sit in an awkward position. I slide down a bit in the chair and sit on my tail bone. Now my tail bone hurts terribly. I also have neck pain due to arthritis, slipped discs, and a vertebra is being squashed. Shoulder pain, and my entire back. Im a freaking mess. Hey, at least my arms dont hurt. Thats something good.View Thread
