I HAVE USED THIS TREATMENT FOR OVER 5 YEARS. THE FIRST PROCEDURE LEFT ME PAIN FREE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY BACK FOR 2 YEARS. SUBSEQUENT TREATMENTS WERE NOT HELPFUL OR ONLY MODERATELY SO. I THINK THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SKILL OF THE DOCTOR, AS I AM NOW WITH A PAIN MANAGE DOCTOR WHO IS 3 FOR 3 IN PROVIDING RELIEF.LONG-TERM.
FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TRY THIS (WHICH I RECOMMEND), DON'T GIVE UP IF THE FIRST ONE DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU. I AM ALSO ON PAIN MEDS AND PATCH, SO A COMBINATION OF TREATMENTS MAY BE THE ANSWER.
MOST OF THE DOCTORS IN MY AREA USE ANESTHESIA FOR RFL, BUT IT IS ONLY MILD DISCOMFORT WITHOUT IT. View Thread
Although it has been mentioned in several discussions, I have seen little about RADIO FREQUENCY LESIONING. It is drug-free and long-lasting (6 months to 2 years for me), It is performed by a Pain Management Doctor as an out-patient procedure, with or without anesthesia, depending on the doctor. It probably won't get rid of all the pain, but any relief is better than none. My present doctor is very good, and I always come away with less pain. View Thread
I have had chronic back pain for 10 years and have tried a variety of treatments. I am now on my 3rd Pain Management Doctor, who believes in various combined treatments. In her office are located an acupuncturist, physical therapist, and psychologist. For me. the most effective and long-lasting treatment is RADIO FREQUENCY LESIONIING (RFL). Other doctors had tried this, but she has given me the most relief, lasting 6 months to 2 years, and it is drug-free and out-patient. I'm also on patches and pills.
Overall, I would suggest you look for a pain clinic that offers multiple treatment options and a doctor with an open mind. View Thread
