My Story:
Became sick in 2005 with what I thought was a pulmonary problem stayed home for 4-5weeks with daily temps of 102-103 went to my family doc and was given antibiotics kept getting worse I went to the ER and was told I had a walking pneumonia and was sent home with more meds after a week I was really sob and went to my local ER and I was told my lung had collpased and I was admitted I was given more meds and O2 for the next 2weeks until I became so bad I was rushed into the OR for surgery to reinflate my lung and remove 4-liters of pus and they also removed the outer lining of my lung and put in 2 chest tubes I was 38yr's old never smoked and they had no idea how I came down with empyema stayed sick and was in and out of the hosp every month they kept me on prednisone.I moved to North Carolina in 2007 for better care and in 2008 my other lung collapsed because of empyema no surgery just chest tubes. During this stay I was diagnosed with Osteonecrosis (bone death because of prednisone)in both hips-shoulders-knees and would need to replace all six joints at some time. I replaced my RT shoulder in 2009 and Lt hip in 2011 but still have a lot of pain due to bursitis.I am on SSDI and have been diagnosed with a permanent disability called Severe restrictive and obstructive pulmonary disease. basically an 80 year old who smoke his whole life. Walking up 1 flight of steps is hard.....Up to now I have been hospitalized 28+times 2-5 days at a time my longest stay was 30-days.
