What I did want to share is that for my DS, at first he could not figure out about tipping back regular sippy cups to get to the liquid so at first we had success with straw sippy cups. Plus with the valves the regular ones were hard for him to suck from. Eventually he figured out how to tip back a regular sippy and then we had to stop using straw cups because he would tip those back and not get the liquid. I know it can be expensive, but try a variety of sippy cups to see what works for your DD. (You may not have the tip back problem since she is used to a bottle, but my DS was nursed, so it was not intuitive for him.)
As far as juice goes, we used to give him diluted juice on a regular basis, but found it makes his BMs really soft to runny. We mostly only give him milk and water now unless he gets a little constipated, then I will give him a little 100% juice. Or if we go to a birthday party and they serve juice then he can have it. It took my DS a long time to transition from breast milk to cows milk so I never had the how much is too much problem, I had a hard time getting him to drink any.
Welcome to this board, I hope you enjoy every moment of this year, it is definitely a fun time in their lives!View Thread

I can't wait to take DS to his 2 year appointment in a couple of weeks to see how much he has grown, plus no shots at this appointment!View Thread

My employer did a car seat safety training and their advice was that the safest seat is one that fits your child, fits your vehicle and one you will use correctly each and every time. So long as a car seat is not recalled or expired it is as safe as any other one out there so long as it is used properly.View Thread

I kept my DS, who has always been a big kid, RF until he was about 20 months when he finally got so tall that he was within an inch of the top of the carseat. It really is best to keep them RF as long as possible. And if you buy a convertible anyway, just put it RF to start.View Thread

I think DS would not be into the glass thing, and even if you don't have to wear them I'm afraid the 3-D effect would scare him. Are all theaters capable of showing a movie in 3-D, or could I still find one that might play it in 2-D.
Thanks for any advice!View Thread

Thanks a bunch!View Thread

My DS goes to an in-home daycare where they have up to 16 kids at any given time and they would make bank if they all got half a weeks pay. Not saying they don't deserve it, I just don't see it happening.
I chatted with a friend this morning whose kids go to the same daycare and she is good friends with the providers who are a mother and daughter. I got some good ideas from my friend and ended up getting them each a $25 gift card to JoAnn Fabrics because they both love to do crafts and sell stuff on Etsy and at craft shows. My DS only goes part time so I pay $60 a week, so depending on how you look at it I spent over half a weeks pay between them both, or was $5 under if I would have given each half a weeks pay. I didn't use that to pick the amount though, it just seemed that $25 was a good amount for that store. Oh and my friend said she always just gives some baked goods as a Christmas gift, so there are those who do that kind of gift too, I guess it depends on your area and comfort level.View Thread
