We have 3 floors. There are gates at the top and bottom of each floor. The playroom is on the 3rd floor, so I like to be able to put them up there and play if I need to run downstairs and do something. I dont have to worry about them falling down the stairs. DS can go up just fine, but I've never seen him come down. They arent carpet, so they are kinda slippery (DH and I have both fallen).View Thread
With DD we started talking about it one day, went out, got drunk, DTD, and....well....here we are nearly 4 yrs later. Was she an oops or planned? I dunno...both I guess.
DS we tried for. DH actually planned it out, looked through the finances, our house situation (we only had a 3 bdm and 1 was an office) and after about a week decided let's do it. DTD 2 times a day for like 2 weeks and now almost 18 mos later my precious baby is here View Thread
I didnt see a specialist with DD, but she's almost 4 and has been constipated all of her life. she's very picky, so fiber is her issue, but Miralax is great for resolving her issues. I'm not a regular pooper either, so I just figure she inherited it from me. Have you tried Miralax or Benefiber?View Thread
It's so incredible how 2 kids from the same parents can be so incredibly different.
DD took FOREVER to PT. She is just so incredibly strong willed and stubborn. If I asked her if she had to go to the potty too many times, she would just look at me and say "no...I'll teetee on the floor" and would pee on the floor. It took a LONG time for her to learn how to pull her pullup up and down. Now with DS, he's already trying to pull his pullup up! When he's finished on the potty, he jumps down and starts trying to pull it up! I didnt even teach him that! We arent PTing by any means (I think I'm afraid because DD was a horror story) but he seems more than ready. He cant say it, but he runs to the potty and bangs on the door. Anyway, yesterday our luggage was still in the kitchen from our trip from hell (If you're a FB friend, I'm sure you've read the story) and I look over at him and he has a pair of my panties on pulled all the way up! He did it by himself! (they were clean, dont worry. I already did the dirties ).
Then last night we were picking up toys, and DS found one of DDs hair ties on the floor. He picked it up, walked over to the drawer I keep them in, put his favorite car down to open the drawer (which is amazing in itself that he put that car down, because usually it's fair game if it hits the floor and DD will knock him down for it.) he opened the drawer, put the hair tie in, closed the drawer, and picked up his car. I praised him to no end for doing that because I didnt even ask for him to help clean up. He just did it all on his own. DD usually gets toys taken away, timeouts, etc when I ask her to help us clean, and here's little DS, who's not even 18 mos old, picking up every little thing.
Oh, and yesterday DDwas bawling because she was thirsty. She has a tummy bug, so anything she drinks, she throws back up. Yesterday was Day 4 of vomit. She was in the hospital in Paris this weekend. Anyway, she was crying and crying for water (I've been feeding her liquids with a syringe and she's still vomitting them), so DS goes over to the cardboard recycling, pulls out a carton of milk, and hands it to her. Of course it was empty, but that was so sweet!!! I almost cried!! And she knocked it out of his hand because she knew it was empty and started screaming again. He walks over and get HIS blankie and gives it to her to make her stop crying!!
I swear I have the sweetest baby boy ever! If DD is in the living room and it's time for vitamins (their favorite) I can hand one to him, tell him to go give it to sister, he runs over and gives it to her, and comes back for his own. I love him so much View Thread
His Dr actually told me not to restrict foods. If he'll eat/drink it, I need to give it to him, and dont worry if he doesnt eat for 2-3 days. I hate Dutch Drs. I'm GOING to worry if he doesnt eat 2-3 days....lol.
Roni, he doesnt pee through pullups at night, but he seems to be PTing himself. He is starting to pullup the pullup up after he goes on the potty. He likes to *ahem* wipe too.....but I think he's been watching sister too much . Plus DD and DS wear the same size pullup, so it's just easier...lol.View Thread
DS has a tummy bug (diarrhea only, thank God!) but from 1030-130 he went through like 8 pullups!
We went to the Dr because he has a high fever too and Dr said 5-7 days. Then I went to the store and bought 2 bags of those cheapy diapers. It was like 4 Euros for a bag of 30. Now I feel guilty. They are a little rough, and he's pooping so much his bottom has to hurt, but I guess I'm too cheap to go through that many pullups a day :oS. I'll just keep a 2 inch thick layer of powder and cream on his bottom.View Thread
