Tonsils are part of your immune system. They play a part in fighting infection. He could have allergies or even a mild virus that you don't know about because he's not showing any other signs. If he has no other symptoms I would say he's probably fine. Just keep an eye on him. Call your doctor if it doesn't go away.View Thread

My DS had a piece of corn stuck up his nose and it caused him to have bad breath. After that was removed he did ok for about a week and then he had bad breath again. One evening he wouldn't stop screaming and saying his ear hurt so I took him to the ER. He had an ear infection. Colds/allergies can do that to. I also pay close attention for out of the ordinary signs because she may have an infection (ear, sinus, throat).View Thread

My DS has eczema. Anyone recommend a body wash that won't irritate his eczema? I already use Aveeno Eczema Therapy Lotion after bath, but it seems like the Johnson & Johnson body wash I'm using is drying out his skin and making it worse.View Thread

Aww, poor baby. Is her fever staying high or has it gone down some since the start of her sickness? If it's staying high I would take her to urgent care or the ER. I would make sure she is getting something to drink that is high in electrolytes such as Pedialyte or even Gatorade. Make sure she is just sipping it a little at a time. Also have her eat popsicles. That will keep her hydrated but she's just getting a little liquid at a time. As for the eating, my pediatrician doesn't seem concerned about my DS' appetite when he's sick. She just wants to make sure he's hydrated. She says his appetite will come back with time. Try having her eat toast or crackers.View Thread

Shawnsgirl0705: I previously posted on this discussion. I also was having the same problem with my DS. I had talked to other mothers on here and told them the only thing that seems to work is holding the door shut until he falls asleep, but my husband thought that was mean. Well, despite what my husband said (he's not there in the evenings anyways because he works), I held the door shut. Each night his tantrums would get shorter. By the third night he only whined for 5 mins and went straight to sleep. He has slept in his own bed since then and we have had no problems... and we keep the door open too. So I agree with what you did.View Thread

I just got my teeth cleaned in December and asked my hygienist when I should bring my DS in for his first check up. She said they like them to be around 3 or 4. I'm sure every dentist is different especially if you go to a pediatric dentist. So, I will be taking him this summer after he turns 3.View Thread

MarciGolden: I am the one who originally put up this post. That was three months ago. I have been limiting how much he drinks and also took the advice of my mother.... she said he will eventually learn on his own how to hold it through the night. So, three months later and I am still putting Pullups on him at night BUT, he is only wet maybe once every two weeks!! Are you asking about potty training in general? If you are, this is what worked for us- When using pullups during the day I felt like he had more accidents. So my mom suggested just leaving him underwear. From that point on he potty trained much quicker. Of course you are going to have to change his pants several times a day but he will eventually catch on and you will feel so proud! He also had an older cousin to look up to because she was potty training a little before him and he thought it was cool. We also would give them an M&M or a Skittle after they pottied on the toilet.View Thread
