DD was like that too. We started PTing her at 18 mos, and at 31-32 mos she was FINALLY PTd to the point where I could take her in public and she's had maybe 3-5 accidents.
When we were PTing her, she would get SO MAD at us for reminding her to go, that she WOULD just go on the floor. One day she came up to me and said "I teetee'd on the floor, you need to go clean it up".
Instead of making it a big deal, maybe back off a bit. DS has pooped on the potty for 4 days straight.....told me he had to go, walked in there and put the potty seat on, got a piece of candy, so I made a big deal about going to the potty and getting candy, and he pooped in his diaper.
I think it is just something that will come with time. Just keep reinforcing that big girls wear panties and use potties and that only babies, like her brother, wear diapers (that was a fun game...I remember that!) mommy wears panties, grandma wears panties, just keep saying it, and eventually it will click.View Thread
My daughter went through that phase when she was that age too, and we just had to keep reinfocring that you shouldnt bite your nails because of germs ETC and finally at 4 she has stopped. The only thing you really can do is reward for not biting, frequent hand washing, and wait it out...View Thread
Maybe you could get some new toys or something for him in his bed?
We transitioned DS around...geez 18 mos I wanna say because he's so tall he could climb out of his crib, but I took his crib toy and mounted it on his big bed and got him some new cars (he doesnt like stuffed animals or anything). Just recently he went through a phase of screaming everytime we put him in bed (and then I remembered my daughter went through the same phase!), and I bought him a lava lamp.....just enough light in his room and something to look at while he is in bed.View Thread
I get them from drinking citrus...OJ, pineapple, Vit C tabs, pretty much anything like that leaves "blisters" in my mouth. Stress is also a cause. You can use oragel, and tylenol/motrin, but other than that, you have to wait it out.View Thread
What about trying the foods that come in the pouches he can drink? Lemme see if I can find a link.... it's like baby food in a pouch. I'm in the netherlands, but I always buy those pouches for my kids when I'm in the US too, because they aer easy to throw them in my purse.
Dont feel bad at all!! She's just not ready. It's not your fault or hers. It's a learning experience for both of you. I started at 18 mos with DD and she was PTd at 32 mos....on her own. She decided she was going to wear panties and there were no accidents and no turning back. This time around I've learned many things. DS tells me he has to go alot too, but very rarely goes. Just put her on the potty when she asks, praise her when she goes, and you;ll know when she's ready.....she'll tell you!View Thread
I have a friend that is considering making a move to the big D! I'm from Houston, so I dont know too much about the Dallas area, but I do know there are a few of you out there that live in Dallas. Can you recommend a good area, in a moderate price range (nothing fancy....like Plano or what is it? Grapevine (where the ex Pres lives) )...TIA.View Thread
