You have to give babies a lot at once because they are little and their immune systems are not able to fight off diseases. If you have ever read a health warning, ie the H1N1 flu, they advise babies under 1 and seniors to get the vaccine first. Why? Because their immune systems are weaker than ours are.
No matter how much scientific evidence, real honest to goodness truth, that has been researched and proven THROUGH SCIENCE, not someones "belief", or just because their child developed autism around the age of two which just happens to be around the time they got their 2 year old shots, they decide to not vaccinate their children and put MY kids at risk.
Just because Jenny McCarthy says it, it has to be true. Insert *eye roll* here.View Thread
Reactions such as a fever is different than getting "autism".
The problem with people that don't believe empirical evidence is that they won't believe empirical evidence. Discrediting Andrew Wakefield (the Dr. part was revoked, because he's a fraud) only reinforces their beliefs that its a big pharm...a conspiracy. They'll trust anecdotal evidence and slanted first hand accounts.
The real conspiracy is how the people who propagate these types of whack job theories (see Naturalpathy, Homeopathy, the "local food" movement) are conspiring to sell quick solutions to complex problems and making boatloads of money doing it.
The root of the problem is we need stronger science and math based education in the schools so people learn how to think critically, rationally and logically. JMO View Thread
You're kidding right? First of all, who the heck cares what Jessica Simpson says?! Second of all, when I was her age, I never considered being stay at home mom either. My mother worked full time, both my grandma's worked full time and in my early 20's I never thought I'd have kids.
So I can see where her comment is coming from.
Try not to take so much offense to what a young celebrity says.View Thread
Ya this format blows. Really were there that many complaints about the old format that they had to go and change it?? Seriously whoever these programmers or graphic people who did this must not use message boards very often.
I've given the boards a couple of days and am usually very welcoming of change - it's a part of life. However this change is way too drastic and NOT user friendly at all.
I've been on these boards since I was trying to get pg with Jonathan and am sad to see people leaving that I've grown to know and like over the years. I hope they take this feedback to heart (and it's on pretty much every board or exchange or discussion or whatever it's called...) to heart and put things back to the way they were. Or Webmd is going to lose a lot of its regulars which will result in ads (how they make their money) not being seen and advertisers getting upset.
