Mom always gets me a litlte something and a card. MIL sometimes comes through with a card. I always get both of them a card from me and DS as well as a small gift (this year they're getting mugs with pictures of DS on them from Snapfish).
It's really hard to find cards with the right greeting. My mother is 'Nanny', MIL is 'Grammie', one of my grandmothers is 'Nana' and the other is 'Gram'. I usually settle for a generic 'Grandmother' for all - they understand.View Thread
My dad is making a Mother's Day brunch for the extended family. We're hoping for good weather so we can spend most of the time outside. Typically, DH will spend the day running around after DS so I can relax and enjoy the company of my family. Works out perfectly!View Thread
That's a tough one. We only had to worry about him waking up the dog
Any possibility of moving your infant to another place to sleep for a few nights while you try to get DD out of the habit? A pack and play crib or something else?
Maybe your DD will work herself out of it. My DS is very routine oriented - if I waited for him to do it on his own, I'd still be getting up every night. But maybe your DD is better at that than my DS.View Thread
DS gets into a routine every once in a while where he wakes up screaming for several days in a row. I asked my pedi about it and he said that sometimes kids who move from one sleep cycle to the next don't fall asleep and instead, wake up (DS often is only half awake when this happens). The pedi said my reaction of running in and turning on his projector soother was helping to create this bad habit. Instead, I now stay in bed and simply say in a soothing voice that he needs to go back to sleep (so he knows we're still there). It seems to work. He moves out of this routine quicker if I do that.View Thread
I'm now going to spend the week jealous and wishing I was at the spa!
DS and I will probably color eggs on Saturday while DH is at work. We'll take a trip to Target to get some eggs and stuff to fill them with for the big Easter egg hunt next weekend. And Sunday I'm planning on hittng the local craft fair.
I'm looking forward to a few days off next week as well. My dad and I are taking DS to the aquarium.View Thread
I'm on the search for new Easter stuff for a similar incident. Completely my fault. I left them in the back of my truck (figuring he's never back there) and completely forgot about it when I opened the hatch to put the groceries in on Sunday. DS immediately said 'Whose trucks are those?'. Ugh. DH said that DS will forget about them. I told DH he's nuts.View Thread
