Happy Friday!!! It's been a long week for me and I am so glad it is finally Friday!! I am on vacation for part of next week so that makes today even better for me
What does everyone have planned for the weekend?
My parents are coming up tomorrow to pick DS up and take him back to their place for the week (the beach!) So he will have a blast next week at the beach. Sunday relax, wash clothes, pack, and clean house, might steam clean the carpet if I have time. Monday I am actually leaving to go to a spa with my BFF and DH is going to visit his BFF and we will meet back home on Wednesday. I will miss DH and DS but I am looking forward to the spa and some alone time. I have never been to a spa and I am very excited!! Back to work Thursday and then off Friday for Easter so I have a wonderful short work week next week!!View Thread
Last night we were playing hide n seek and we were hiding in our bedroom closet...Of course that is where the bag of Easter stuff is. He only saw the golf set because it was sticking out. He said ohh what is this in a very excited voice. I tried to say oh it's nothing but he wasnt buying it. He took it in his room and put it beside his bed and asked me if he stayed in bed all night if he could play with it tomorrow, how could I say no to that?? So, today he will get to play with the golf set. I have 2 pair of sun glasses I was saving for our FL trip so I might toss one in his basket or leave it as is. I am just glad he didnt open the bag and see the other stuff!! View Thread
Hi Sarah! I dont really have any good advice for you. Christopher is a good sleeper most nights, but usually once a week he does wakes up in the middle of the night. I just go in and rub his back for a few min. give him a kiss, and tuck him back in. If he is upset then I ask him if he had a bad dream or what he is scared of. Most times he will say he is scared of the door, or the fan, or the dresser all silly things.
I sometimes do what Jackie mentioned and give a small reward if he stays in his bed the next night. Usually it's going to the park, reading extra books, having a special snack.
I also praise him every morning and tell him how happy mommy is that he stayed in bed and didnt wake up. Sometimes now when I go in to wake him for daycare he will ask me...Did I stay in bed all night?View Thread
We will dye eggs on Friday or Saturday. My mom is going to hide plastic eggs outside for an Easter egg hunt not sure what day we will do that.
As for his Easter basket.....my DS does not like chocolate and really he doesnt like most sweets so I pack his backet full of other stuff. I got some matchbox cars, new underware, roller skates (the fisher price ones that fit over his shoes), and a golf set, a small football that changes colors, and a few suckers (the one candy he eats)View Thread
What does everyone have planned for this weekend??
DH has to work tomorrow so I am going to take DS on a "date" for breakfast! He has heard DH and I mention date before and he said he wanted to go so I thought I would take him to breakfast tomorrow. Then I will probably do a quick clean house and wash clothes before DH gets home. Not sure what we will do that evening.
We go to my parents house every Easter since its a long weekend off work and it's a 4hr drive...so this Sunday we will go to DS parents house and dye eggs and maybe do a small easter egg hunt if the weather is nice, that way they can enjoy in some of the Easter fun.View Thread
Hi! Do you let your LO help out with anything? DS loves to help with everything so I have started to give him small tasks and he loves it! Just cruious as to what your DC likes to help with.
Right now he will help dust (I spray the cloth for him), sweep, unload the dishwasher, holds the cord while I vacuum, he does also help clean the table after dinner, once in a while I let him help wash any pots and pans that we have from dinner. His daily "chores" are feeding the cat, making up his bed (he usually just pulls the comforter up), cleaning up his toys before bed. And he LOVES to help with cooking dinner. I let him help with that when I can. View Thread
Thanks for giving the details of the other side. It is a lot to think about, and I dont plan on acting on anything just yet. I am still exploring options. My reason is both commute and flexible hours. I want to be able to take a few hours off in the middle of the day and help with a class field trip, or class party. I guess I should have picked my job and or house location a bit better It's tough sometimes because we have a good house location with ok schools, but both DH and I work 45. min from home in different directions.View Thread
