A friend of mine thought it was crazy that we pulled DDs' teeth. We wait to pull them when they are causing DD pain because they are so loose, and they are usually bleeding a bit.View Thread

Then before cub scouts my neighbor called us over and there were 5 baby bunnies in her flower bed. We moved them to the field beside us. (really didn't need all those bunnies there! )
The boys thought all this was super cool. I am thinking all these poor animals are ready for spring !
Anyway adventures in our world

Me well I am nervous as a single mom with this kind of stuff but I will do it as always. You are also required to volunteer. So between this , the PTA , and church I am super swamped.
Along with my super swamped every day stuff.
But this is for my guys who are so excited. I know this will be good for them.View Thread
I'm a nice person but I gues I'm not that out-going. I've been getting better with approaching the other moms and trying to start up conversations but they just seem to fizzle out. I just don't know what to talk about and I keep thinking that they really don't care what I have to say. It's so depressing that I just don't have any one to call or hang out with.
Just looking for ideas on how I can approach the other parents and maybe what to talk about. I wish I was one of those people who can just talk and talk.View Thread

DH and I got a ton of cleaning out done. I sent DDs over to the grandparents so we could work uninterrupted. We cleaned out 3 closets upstairs, the dumping ground for junk in our bedroom, the playroom, and all the drawers/cabinets in the dining room and living room. We were pitching stuff that both of us had before we were married 11+ years ago. It was time! I now just have 3 BIG boxes of photos I need to go through and organize. I just keep going upstairs and opening the closets to look at them.

Our weekend did end on a sad note. We went to a funeral yesterday for a friend who had been battling cancer for a long time. She was only 46 and had a 13 year old daughter. The girls were hugged extra tight before bed last night.
How did your weekend go?View Thread
Do you think there should be a minimum age requirement to ride thrill rides? Do you/would you let your child ride based on height alone? How old do you think a child should be to ride?View Thread
Keep the city in your thoughts and prayers. This day is usually one of celebration with the marathon and the early Red Sox game. How quickly it turned to tragedy. I'm choosing to look for some good amidst the chaos. The amazing first responders, the marathoners who finished running 26 miles and then headed to the hospitals to give blood. Amazing people and I'm sure more stories will emerge.
Stay safe everyone.View Thread
Levi's teacher is increasing the amount of homework this last trimester to prepare her students for second grade and good home study habits. It looks like the increased work is in the form of more research and writing projects. They are studying Monarch Butterflies (each student as his/her own caterpillar to study) and Mexico. One evening this week he had to read this epistolary type book, a series of 16 letters written by children visiting different places in Mexico to a friend highlighting some interesting point. He then had to write and draw about two facts he read to be returned the next day. Plus he had his regular word study homework. He was rather upset over the amount of work. It didn't take that long to get it all done, 30 to 45 minutes. I have to say it is good for him to get use to more work and I'm glad it isn't mindless work sheets. He has a big project due next week. They have to select a place in Mexico and research it. From their research they have to create a travel poster outlining five facts about the are they choose plus create a drawing. They are to use multiple resources in their project.View Thread

Today we wake up to some snow. Good Gracious what a spring this is!
I cannot wait until it warms up for my gardens ect. Apparently the plant after Mother's Day theme will hold strong.
My brother is dealing with a huge ice storm and they had 8 inches of snow last night. He has no electricity so I shouldn't complain but....
Bring on spring!View Thread
