Im glad you looked into it and caught it early! I've seen this happen so many times working in the ER. Cats have a powerful bacteria that they so lovingly pass on in their bites. And right on your thumb next to the nail....ouch. Hope you heal soon!View Thread
I guess I took the summer off. New baby and Avery home all day has left me no time for this at all. I've had a wonderful summer although I am very excited to get back to work and have some adult interaction.
Avery starts kindergarten this Monday. This past Thursday we had "bus night" so the kids can meet their new teachers and go for a busride. We've talked to Avery prior and she seemed so excited. We get there and she cowers behind me refusing to meet her teacher, and then WOULD NOT let go of either of us to ride the bus. She was the only child to refuse the bus ride. She sobbed and watched as it drove away.
Anyone have a similar experience or have an idea that we can try for Monday? My worry is Avery will again freak out and cry, not making school the exciting experience we were hoping for.View Thread
Avery does not have any allergies to date but..at parents night for kindergarten the faculty explained that since allergies are become more and more noticed, the school has adopted a "no food policy." When someone has a birthday, they ask that if you wish to send in a treat, that it be non food. Examles were small toys or a room gift like chalk or some other large group activity.
As far as lunches, I would have to wait and see until next year.View Thread
Name: Rebekah Kids/school plans: DD Avery: turned 5 in July. Starting Kindergarten 8/27 DS Logan: 10weeks. Heading to the sitter when I go back to work next month. So sad
Current Biggest Challenges: Dinner. << agreed. I know I can cook so many things. But when it comes to dreaming up a menu, I seem to be stuck on repeating about 5. Excersize. I have about 20 pounds I'd like to get rid of but I can't seem to muster up any motivation. And now that I'll be going back to work I don't know where I'll find the time.
Best summer moment so far: I have absolutely loved being home this summer. I'm not im education so I don't normally have the luxury of summer breaks
Thank you ladies for all the ideas. Avery does go to preschool but not for the summer. She will be starting school in the fall. I guess I was just concerned that she would be bored but maybe I'm overthinking it. Kids are so creative on their own! I'll make sure to get her together with plenty of her friends so they don't lose contact over the summer. And I will look into the library, they probably do have some sort of summer reading/story time activities.View Thread
