Well as I picked up my 4 year old today, the teacher called me into the hall to say they are having problems with her. The first is that she is sticking out her tongue and then when they tell her to stop, she keeps saying she is doing it because of something the other kid did. But the teacher said today she said that and she had been watching the whole time and the kid hadn't done anything.
The second problem was not listening and not sitting still in circle time and at lunch. The teacher just wanted me to talk to her about it but really we have some of these problems at home - knowingly telling a lie, not sitting still and only listening when she wants to. She knows how to do these things and didn't have this problem in last years class. Any tips or suggestion to get her to behave better? What do you do when you kid lies like this? (DS never really did that.) TIAView Thread
Our PTA has one fall fundraiser and one spring one. Fall is selling Entertainment books but they can't go door to door. It is just selling to family, friends and co-workers. The spring is a walk-a-thon. They did do a pizza night last year and we did that. So far not too overwhelmed but know that it will get worse next year with two at the same school.View Thread
We tried the Thermos/food jar type thing last year and they just didn't work for us. I would have to put something in them at 7 am and he doesn't eat until noon so in 5 hours it just wasn't as hot as he wanted so he wouldn't eat it. May try it this year since his lunch is a little earlier.
Anyway, I am not much help as DS is picky and I pretty much send the same thing every day. (Jelly sandwich, pretzels, yogurt, chocolate milk - sometimes grapes or a pack of gummies as a treat)
Sorry, Sarah but my picky eater pretty much won't eat anything on your list. Even my non-picky eater (DD) won't eat most of that stuff and I am more worried about what I will send in her lunch when she starts taking it.View Thread
OK - I haven't been on the boards all summer but maybe with school starting soon I will have time to check in more often.

Right around the time I found out I was pregnant with DS, my DH went on the Atkins diet and I went on it with him. The first 2 weeks where you seriously cut out the carbs are hard. But we did it. After that DH, continued to watch the carbs but didn't stay on the plan. I found out I was pregnant so went off the plan. We have never retried it. (DS is turning 7 next month so it has been awhile.) I really need to start calorie counting. I want to lose 5 lbs and have started exercising but really haven't adjusted my diet like I should.View Thread
Dare to Dream is here this weekend and I am considering taking DD (4) and maybe DS (6) if he wants to come. Not sure I can convince DH to come too so it may just be me and the kids. I think it looks great.View Thread
